1 starThe one and only reason they get this one star is because I had to leave at least one...stay far away from this company. This is the most unprofessional company I have ever had to deal with. communication is the worst, brings family to work with them and lets the kids play on whatever is in your yard, it just so happened that I had a trampoline and swing set (that not only did the children play on the lady did to). Not one person on the jobsite speaks English so they do not even understand "please get your children and Wife off my property" Had roof installed on July 10 still have not returned to fix the problems that the manager found that includes flashing around the chimney bowing out and missing nails around the vents. Since they do not return phone calls or keep their word very concerned, I may not get my warranty or lien waiver.Review fromEllen Z

1 starWhat a horrible company! After the Memorial Day storm in 2024, they came out because they had replaced our roof previously. They did our roof and broke one of the caps on an HVAC pipe. They said they would pay for it but couldn't do the work themselves. We finally got that fixed. Then came the siding debacle. They put the siding on wrong and damaged soffits. I sent them pictures repeatedly but every time I asked them to fix it they wouldn't send someone out. It took over a month! The only reason they finished was because I refused to pay them. I'm continuing to find nails and debris all over my yard. They also left cables hanging and they look awful. I was tricked into referring a neighbor to them and was told if the neighbor completed work that I would get a referral fee. The neighbor's work was completed months ago, and I have been ghosted by both **** and his boss ****. Don't waste your time because I guarantee you it will take forever, and the work is subpar. They kept telling me the reason for the delays is that they had so much work and didn't have the infrastructure to support it. *************.Advocate Construction, Inc.- Chicago's Roofing, Siding, Solar, & Gutter Contractor

Advocate Construction appreciates the feedback provided by the homeowner and is genuinely sorry to hear about the frustration experienced during the course of the project. The company takes the concerns seriously and acknowledges that certain aspects of the process did not meet expectations.Referral Credit: A referral credit has been issued to the homeowner after it was confirmed that the neighbors project met the qualifications outlined in Advocate Constructions referral program.Debris and Cleanup: Upon learning that the homeowner continued to find materials and debris on the property, Advocate promptly scheduled a return visit from the operations team to perform additional cleanup.**** **************************** Concerns: The **** cap repair required a third-party vendor, and Advocate Construction authorized that service. The company regrets the delays and any breakdowns in communication surrounding this issue. Additionally, the siding concerns raised by the homeowner have been reviewed and addressed accordingly. Advocate appreciates the homeowners persistence in seeking resolution.Advocate Construction remains committed to improving internal communication, strengthening service delivery, and ensuring that all customers receive a positive experience. The company values the opportunity to resolve the matter and hopes its actions demonstrate its dedication to customer satisfaction.Sincerely,**** ******, Vice President of Sales Advocate Construction *******************************************Review fromclaudette k

1 starAdvocate Construction, in my opinion, consists of extremely nice individuals that will lie to you. They had me sign a 5-page agreement (red flag) including an arbitration clause (BIG red flag) which they violated in numerous ways, notably the clause that states materials will be of good quality and work performed in a god workmanlike manner. I communicated concerns re the quality of some of the shingles and their installation, which I could actually see from ground level. They sent 4 people to assure me nothing was wrong. (no pressure here) But, re an independent review: 1) THE INSTALLATION IS OF POOR QUALITY 2) THE ROOF WAS INSTALLED ON A DAY BELOW THE TEMPERATURE RECOMMENDED BY THE MANUFACTURER. 3) SHINGLES ON THE NORTH FACING ROOF ARE STILL NOT LAYING FLAT. 4) SHINGLES COULD BE LIFTED BY HAND IN MULTIPLE LOCATIONS 5) SOME NAILS WERE POKING THROUGH THE SHINGLES -- NOT PROPERLY NAILED OR SET. 6) REVEAL LINES WERE ERRATIC. 7)CAULK WAS VISIBLE ON THE TOP OF THE ROOF, 8) NO DRIP EDGE WAS USED AND IS REQUIRED BY CODE. I disputed the charges. They sent ***resultatives to assess the situation with my ***presentative. I overhead the conversation that started with a quick dismissal by Advocate of anything being wrong. My ***presentative insisted on a more thorough review after which Advocate agreed to 1. Replace the back slope of the house, any pipe flashing and 750s vents 2. Hand seal any loose shingles on the front slope of the house (rather than get IKO to ***lace faulty shingles). 3. Seal down the end caps on all ridges 4. Install drip edges. When we meet with Advocate to confirm all was done, we determined they had only done 3 of the 4 items on the list. The *** did the remaining ***air. 7 months into this project, I can say it's exhausting getting them to do the right thing. And this is a shortened version of all the events that occurred.Advocate Construction, Inc.- Chicago's Roofing, Siding, Solar, & Gutter Contractor

To whom it may concern,Thank you for the opportunity to address the concerns raised in the review. Advocate Construction regrets that the customers experience did not meet expectations and offers the following clarification and timeline:The roof project at Ms. ****** property began in November 2024 and was completed as scheduled in December 2024. At the homeowners request, we contacted her insurance provider to explore approval for additional work. During this process, we learned that Ms. ***** submitted a complaint to the insurance adjuster, which negatively impacted cooperation and led to the denial of the proposed supplemental work.Subsequent attempts to clarify concerns were met with a directive from the homeowner to communicate only through written correspondence. A formal letter was later received but lacked specific detail about any issues with the roof installation, only noting that a separate contractor had been asked to perform an evaluation. Advocate Construction responded by offering a formal inspection, consistent with industry standards.A joint site visit was eventually conducted with the homeowner and her selected roofing contractor. During this meeting, all parties agreed to a defined scope of additional corrective work. While some requests could not be fulfilled due to structural constraintssuch as installing drip edge on ***** with no overhangall feasible items were addressed. The customer confirmed at the final walkthrough that the corrective work had been completed to satisfaction.Regarding the timing of the original installation, internal records confirm that ambient temperatures were within the acceptable range for a cold-weather roof install. Proper procedures were followed to ensure a quality installation in accordance with manufacturer recommendations. Advocate Construction has executed successful installations in cold weather conditions by following those protocols, which were followed in this case.Advocate Construction has not been informed of the concerns about certain shingles not laying flat. Had we been contacted, we would have welcomed the opportunity to investigate and respond appropriately, just as we did with earlier concerns.Due to nonpayment and a breakdown in communication, the account was referred to Advocate Constructions legal department. A mechanics lien was filed in accordance with standard procedure. Upon receipt of payment on July 7, 2025, the lien was immediately released, and warranty documentation was provided. The file was then closed.Advocate Construction regrets any miscommunication that may have contributed to customer dissatisfaction. However, it is important to note the following:Additional work was performed at no cost to the customer Installation followed cold-weather procedures with appropriate quality control The customer confirmed satisfactory completion of the agreed-upon repairs The new concerns about the shingles not laying flat were not previously disclosed Advocate Construction remains committed to ethical business practices, transparent communication, and customer satisfaction. The company appreciates the opportunity to provide clarity and context in response to this matter.Sincerely,**** ******, Vice President of Sales Advocate Construction ************************************** ******************************* **************Review fromGreg J

5 starsI had ****** ******** come out and sell us our roof. He was kind and honest the entire time and completely took care of everything with our insurance company. We only had to talk to insurance twice to confirm with them. Then we met ***** who came to inspect the property before construction and he was very professional and kind. When the team came in they had the roof done in ONE DAY! It was a team of hardworking men who knew what they were doing and did it well. Plus they smiled and waved while my kids watched them work from the windows. 10 star across the board for this team.Advocate Construction, Inc.- Chicago's Roofing, Siding, Solar, & Gutter Contractor

1 starI didnt want to write this review, but after being pressured and now summoned to court by Advocate Construction, I feel I must speak ***** a single mother and first-time homeowner who hired them based on a referral. After a brief walk-through of my ***** sq ft home, their *** claimed my roof, siding, and gutters could be ***laced through insurance due to weather damage. He said he had insurance experience and knew exactly what to say. He told me my only out-of-pocket cost would be a $2,500 deductible, which would be waived if I referred four people, which I did.I felt pressured to move forward. Once the claim was approved for $22,363.40, I signed the check over before any work begansomething I now deeply regret. I waited months for work to start and feared they had taken the money and disappeared. When work finally began, it was poorly done and incomplete. The roof was delayed, siding was installed over rotted wood, and the gutters and fascia were never ***laced. Interior water damage caused by the missing gutters was ignored. I had to pay out of pocket to finish the gutters myself. Permits werent pulled until I contacted the City of *******, and I never received itemized receipts for the materials.Later, Advocate demanded an additional $7,000 and reopened my insurance claim without my knowledge or consent. After the job was supposedly finished, I received ***eated calls, texts, and flyersunwanted contact that felt like harassment.Due to the delays and lack of documentation, my homeowners insurance was canceled. Now Im struggling to find a more expensive policy and fear my mortgage may increase. This has been an emotionally and financially stressful experience. I trusted Advocate Construction in good faith and was left with incomplete work, unexpected costs, and legal threats. I urge other homeowners to research thoroughly before signing anything.Advocate Construction, Inc.- Chicago's Roofing, Siding, Solar, & Gutter Contractor

To Whom it May Concern:We want to take this opportunity to respond to *** ********* concerns directly and transparently. We have been trying to contact *** ******* for several months regarding the outstanding balance for work that was agreed upon and completed. Unfortunately, despite repeated attempts to communicate and resolve the matter amicably, we received no response. We were left with no choice but to initiate legal proceedings after all other efforts failed, even prior to her filing this review to the ************************** like to clarify several points raised in her review:The fascia replacement was not included in the original scope of work. We communicated that it would incur an additional cost, which she declined.Permits required for the work were properly obtained and confirmed to be in place before the applicable work began. While we understand there were concerns about timing and communication, the approved work was ultimately completed as outlined in the agreement.Regarding the reopened insurance claim, this was done in accordance with industry standards to ensure all eligible damages were covered, not as a means to increase costs to *** ******* who worked with us to reopen the ******** is never our intent to create hardship or frustration. Our preference has always been to reach a fair resolution through open dialogue, and we remain willing to negotiate a settlement. At this point, resolving the matter simply requires payment of the outstanding balance.Should *** ******* wish to avoid further legal proceedings, we invite her to contact us directly at ************** or via email at ******************************* so we can work toward a mutually agreeable solution.Sincerely,*** *******, Vice President of Sales Advocate Construction *****************************************
