On 05/08/23, I visited Charlie Car Care for an oil change. The employee persistently pushed unnecessary services and recommended going to the shop next door for additional repairs. Both shops are owned by the same owner, indicating collusion. A week later, my car was still making a rumbling noise. I checked for oil and found it was missing oil. Employee admitted the car was leaking oil and urged me to go next door. Another mechanic confirmed no leaks, and Charlie Car Care didn't top of the oil as promised. The owner initially refused a refund and used scare tactics. I request a full refund of $71.00. Filed a complaint with Mobile 1 regarding deceptive practices.I went back to Charlie Car Care for a refund on 06/06/23. I spoke with the owner. ( individual mentioned he was the owner ) He mentioned to me he was not going to refund me because the oil was already in the car. I told him I was entitled to a refund according to the receipt due to faulty mechanic practices. I mentioned to the owner that it was illegal what they were doing trying to sell me services to another mechanic shop Both shops are owned by the same owner.The owner later proceeded to tell me that himself also worked on the car. Owner mentioned to me that the vehicle can burn the oil within weeks. Another issue is I believe the employee purposefully updated the mileage on the window sticker so I could go sooner than required. The shop has multiple negative reviews regarding expensive services.
