Absolutely awful organization. Like everyone else has stated, they want you to make a donation before they look at your application. I adopted a dog there and after some time, I had make the agonizing decision to surrender her back to the organization due to not getting along with the original dog, per our contract instead of rehoming myself like I wanted to. They seemed ok -ish with it, a little annoyed but ok. Then the owner tried blasting me on F******* and saying that I didn't really love my dog and how selfish I was for taking up space another dog could have had and numerous other lies. Like they didn't just see me sobbing on the ground with my dog. But of course she blocked me from their F******* page right after so I couldn't comment back and deleting any comments that defend me. A real keyboard coward here. No wonder their rating is 2/5.

I was refused the opportunity to adopt a dog. The reason was vague. I asked they be more specific so if it was a reason I could do something about I would. They rudely blew me off. Were not helpful in telling me what was wrong that I couldn't adopt so I got no help from them. Really not the mist helpful place for adopting. I DID donate but was not demanded to do so.

Per her own ******** page, the president of this “rescue” BUYS designer dogs at AUCTION - lucrative business that contributes 30-40% of puppy mills’ revenue according to news reports. She also allegedly assaulted one of her foster families and ripped the dog from her arms. They wanted to adopt the dog in their care. First time fosters aren’t allowed to adopt, because this woman thinks fosters “have to learn to let go.” How could that possibly be in the interest of these dogs.

I would highly suggest anyone putting in an application for adoption for Leias’s Hope rescue. Being a recent adopting family back in the fall, the did their due diligence in finding out if I was the best home for the dog that I had chosen to put in an application for. I had no problem with the rescue contacting any of my references, including my veterinarians. And the rescue did call all of them, which I appreciate wholeheartedly. I understand that these animals have just come out of some of the worst living situations and they have to make sure these dogs never see anything like that again.
Safety for these newly rescued dogs is first and for most. The volunteers at Leia’s Hope did not miss anything on my application.
Thank you to your entire crew that helps save these wonderful animals so they can live in a loving home life instead of a kennel.
    You do amazing work!

Be VERY wary of this “rescue” they try to get people to “apply” for their animals and state you need to donate money to be considered. THEN they tell people they aren’t good pet owners and just pocket peoples money! They are just scamming people to get donations and who knows what they are doing with the money but they are not using it to find these animals good homes. Do NOT fall for them and their scams! They have been reported across other avenues as well. We learned our lesson, hopefully nobody else falls for their scam as well!

Our website has our guidelines and does not say a donation is required to be considered. The person is upset because she failed to meet our vetting requirements. She was offered on multiple occasions to send the necessary vetting information but did not. Instead she was rude, threatening and combative. We are very transparent about our policies and assume she thought a small donation was going to buy approval. When that did not work she tried bullying. We will not compromise on the health and the safety of our pets and go above and beyond to match our dogs with their forever family.
