Purchased an abs actuator for a twenty thirteen ****** prius from lkq. Picked up the part on the seventh of august and was informed that it was not complete and the other half would be in the next day Went down to pick up the other part was informed that their new mexico location did not respond to their e-mail request for the the other half of the part The attitude of the staff at the counter was apathetic at best. I asked the staff if there was anything they could do to fix the problem. The manager's response shocked me instead of saying let me call our new mexico location to find out about the part. He stated that he could probably locate the part from another location in about would take about a week The whole experience left me with the feeling that lkq, it does not care about the individual customer Due to the fact that they do a large volume of sale with repair shops, witch seems to be where they provide the best customer ********************** possible

I own a car repair business, main avenue car care. I purchased a used engine from LKQ May 22, 2025. There were issues with the engine and a replacement was sent. I spoke with a representative from LKQ and an agreement was made to compensate me for the second engine replacement in the amount of $1,539.00. Since June 4, 2025, I have been communicating with ****** in **** requesting/waiting for my compensation. I have made eight phone calls. Some I have left messages with no response.

I had a vehicle that had a warranty with SilverRock and it was determined that an engine replacement was needed. This engine replacement was provided by LKQ (Keystone Automotive **************). The day that we picked the vehicle up from *** ***** (dealership handling replacement of engine), the vehicle stopped in traffic and we did not even make it the 5 miles home. The vehicle had to be towed back to the dealership right after we picked it up. The dealership checked the vehicle and it was determine that there was a bent pushrod in the engine that was received from LKQ. This information was sent to LKQ because the engine was warrantied through them now instead of SilverRock. It was a battle for this claim to be approved to be repaired, but it was. The pushrod was replaced and the engine still failed. *** *****, service advisor from *** *****, reached back out to LKQ and advised of this issue and provided all evidence that was requested from LKQ and on 07/24/25 they told Jan that a new replacement would be shipped to them because they would rather do a full replacement instead of running a chance that there might be other failures in the engine initially sent by LKQ. *** ***** had not received the engine so I reached out to LKQ and they advised that the freight provider (Dohrn) could not deliver the engine because of equipment failure. Then the next day I asked about where the engine was I was advised it was lost. **** ***** from LKQ said that if it was not found in a couple of hours that they would send another one. That was the morning of 07/30/25 and i reached back out today asking for an update and there was none. They did not ship another engine as they advised they would. I have no vehicle and have not since the beginning of July due to engine issue and then due to their defective engine and now due to them not getting a replacement to the dealership since the other was supposedly lost. I am a single mother and cannot afford a rental up front either

I am rejecting this response because:  The first engine replacement failed that came from LKQ.  The failure from that engine led to claim WC261532 which was approved to have the pushrod replaced, but there were more failures after that.  Due to the additional failures, claim WC261640 was initiated to replace the "replacement" engine that was defective.  The dealership service department is in the process of doing the replacement of the replacement.  I am not accepting any response until we have the engine replacement done and we know that we have not received another defective engine.  Once we know that they engine is good, then we can revisit closing the claim.

      Sincerely,

Invoice number KB888131, our shop purchased a bumper cover as sourced by an insurance estimate but it ended up not being the right bumper cover for the car so it was returned. The refund check was supposedly cut on 6/17. 4 weeks later, I have not yet seen any check in the mail. I have called accounting **** 2-3 times asking for check to be recut, but the people I have talked to on the phone stated that they would take down my contact information and reach back out. It is 7/18 as of writing this and I still have no check and have not been contacted by anyone. I reached out again today on 7/18. I tried to ask for contact information for the person in accounting I was speaking to and expressed my frustration that the accounting department isn't getting back to me at all. **** in ******** did not give me her contact information but only promised to get on top of the refund soon.

I purchased a sodium ion hybrid from this company that has a 4 year warranty contingent that they install the battery, and the company to my knowledge has no ability to schedule the appointment for installation, every option to contact results in not being the right department or stating an inability to help, even options on the website for scheduling are misleading as they take you back to the quote screen and then the quote email only tries to sell you another battery, Maby this is a scam. considering I paid for a 4-year unlimited warranty that cannot become valid because they dodge to install

I recently purchased a used engine and turbo with warranty costing $3,028.10 from LKQ . I specifically asked if both were functioning because labor cost is over two thousand dollars and I didn't want to have bad parts installed. After paying two thousand dollars to have the engine and turbo installed, the mechanic informed me that the turbo was bad and would need removed and replaced-additional $500 in labor. When calling LKQ, I was on hold for over an hour. After finally getting through to an employee, she informed me that they don't cover labor warranty on the part they just sold me even though was told the opposite when I paid. After verifying all my information, she emailed me an invoice that stated "no labor warranty" on the turbo which she added in after the fact (I have attached the original before she fraudulently changed it). I was told the turbo was shipped but given no tracking number. I was told I would receive it on 7/11/2025. It is now 7/14 in the evening.....still no tracking number or package. I called back and now they close early and don't take emails or voicemails. I work on the road all day and don't have another 2.5 hours to wait on hold during the work day like I was forced to spend last week to resolve this fiasco. I have since found another turbo at a reputable dealer locally. I don't even know if the replacement has been shipped as LKQ failed to send me a tracking. LKQ has proven to be a total failure that only cares about your money....not you. I am owed a refund for the turbo that didn't come (if it ever does I will return it when they send a label). I am owed the $500 additional labor as well. I had to pay this twice for their failure. I have uploaded both receipts. The paid receipt shows $118.92 for the Turbo along with $19 for warranty. This plus $500 additional labor for a total of $637.92 is what I feel I am rightfully owed and I don't appreciate the fact that they lied and altered the receipt and wording.

On June 28, I ordered a part for my vehicle that was a black driver's side view mirror. LKQ's online description of the part's functionality and pictures was what I was looking for. However, when the item was delivered on July 2 it was not the same part in color and had none of the features that made me originally choose this item. I called LKQ on July 3 to report this issue and they sent me an email to send them pictures of the part. I have reached out again on July 7 with no response. It has now been 11 days and I believe that is more than adequate time to give an update. Since I purchased this with ******, I opened a claim. I am more than willing to return this item. I just want my money back.

Purchased a Tristar (LKQ ************************* engine for 2003 Jeep Liberty KJ V6 through Autozone. The purchaser included 3 year unlimited mile warranty, with cost-of-parts plus $50/hour labor reimbursement. The first engine failed immediately, requiring delivery and installation of a second engine. At this point I have wasted approximately $2500 in initial labor costs. After the second engine was delivered, the core from the first failed engine was subsequently lost by Autozone/Tristar/LKQ, and I was informed that their loss of my engine voided my warranty for engine replacement henceforth. Furthermore, because my failed core was "lost" that meant that Tristar Engineering forensics could not be performed and that I would not be reimbursed for the labor related to the installation of the replacement engine. At this point I have wasted a total of over $5000. The second (replacement) engine was installed but suffered from a recurring misfire, which caused emissions testing failure, which prevented me from legally driving the vehicle. Subsequent efforts to diagnose and repair the misfire condition involved further emissions control part replacement and labor with expenses in excess of $3000.After all misfire problems were corrected and the vehicle was bale to be driven legally, with valid emission certification, the engine developed a knock after approximately 200 miles. The vehicle was taken to a repair shop and another $3000 was spent in an attempt to save the vehicle, which ultimately failed.Approximately $16000 of my money was wasted over the last several months because LKQ sells faulty parts through Autozone, and I have been taken advantage of because I trusted the reputation of two supposed Industry Leaders. The vehicle is undriveable and destined for the salvage yards, where I supposed LKQ will acquire all of the major mechanical parts and subsequently resell to yet another unsuspecting buyer.

I am rejecting this response because:

I spent 3 years and thousands of dollars trying to address issues that turned out to be nothing more than a defected product that was shipped without being fully tested for satisfactory functionality.  If the product had been correctly assembled and tested before shipment, then the product would have worked flawlessly for at least 3 years under the terms of the guarantee/warranty.

I spent 3 years wasting my own money performing comprehensive troubleshooting, only to determine that the product was a piece of junk to begin with. The only thing that will satisfy me at this point is a full refund of the original cost of the defective engine, plus 100% of all labor costs incurred in the attempts to salvage the defective engine from the initial receipt of that engine since February 2023.

      Sincerely,

      Good day,

Claim WC181344  A replacement long block was shipped per warranty terms.Warranty long block was not received back for inspection. At this time  the cause of failure, whether a manufactures defect or a caused failure due to improper installation, failure of a transferred part from the vehicle owners original engine damaged the long block, or a failure cause by something else cannot be determined.

Claim WC224839  A replacement cylinder head was shipped on this claim. Warranty product was received back and inspected. The claim was not approved for a manufactures defect. Cause of failure was found to be ingestion of foreign debris from a part transferred from the vehicles . On this denied claim a goodwill payment per the warranty terms for parts and labor was paid, even though the customer was not eligible to receive one.

Tristar Engines has acted in good faith and has gone above and beyond what the warranty provides. ******* first providing an upfront replacement long block and even though we had not received our warranty product back, provided additional replacement product along with parts and labor payments on a denied claim that we were not obligated to pay.

I am rejecting this response because: 1. Regarding the statement
Claim WC181344  A replacement long block was shipped per warranty terms. Warranty long block was not received back for inspection. At this time  the cause of failure, whether a manufactures defect or a caused failure due to improper installation, failure of a transferred part from the vehicle owners original engine damaged the long block, or a failure cause by something else cannot be determined.
The long block was given to the LKQ Logistics Service provider, which was responsible for (a) delivery of the replacement long block, and (b) receipt and transfer of the original failed long block core, by Till **************** located at **************************************. Therefore the "not received" statement is false.  An agent of LKQ received that failed long block which makes that long block an immediate possession of LKQ at the moment of physical transfer.
      2. Regarding the statement
"Cause of failure was found to be ingestion of foreign debris from a part transferred from the vehicles" is hearsay.  This is an unacceptable denial of responsibility on the part of LKQ.  At no time did anyone from LKQ provide any evidence whatsoever to physically demonstrate presence of supposed foreign debris.  The expectation is that any such debris existed is predicated on trust that a LKQ employee actually found said debris.  However, there is zero trust in such a claim by anyone without physical proof. Likewise, hypothetically I could say that whoever wrote this denial of responsibility from LKQ is a hamster because I think the mother of said person was a hamster, at which point others would have to trust that such a hypothetical statement was true simply because I am somehow by default "trusted" without providing any evidence of hamster ancestry, but there would be no conclusive way to prove hamster ancestry of any LKQ employee that because in such a scenario I would not have provided any evidence to support such a claim.
      3. Regarding the statement

"Tristar Engines has acted in good faith and has gone above and beyond what the warranty provides. ******* first providing an upfront replacement long block and even though we had not received our warranty product back, provided additional replacement product along with parts and labor payments on a denied claim that we were not obligated to pay."
Observations #1 and #2 (above) refute and denounce any statements by LKQ regarding "good faith". This entire experience related to LKQ products has been an exercise in duplicity. The original engine being non-functional upon arrival, return of core for subsequent replacement lost by LKQ logistics, denial of any subsequent long block replacement because "core not returned", not one but two faulty cylinder heads offered as an alternative to delivery of a long block that actually functions; all of this adds up to a thoroughly disreputable company named LKQ that is completely devoid of trust and responsibility.  Finally, LKQ ***IS*** obligated to pay for parts and labor, according to the terms of the warranty agreement because losing parts in shipment **IS NOT*** the responsibility of the customer.
Anyone that reads this correspondence, and then proceeds to conduct business with LKQ, or any of its divisions or partners, is suspect by association and needs to have their actions questioned by any subsequent parties that receive parts and/or services provided by LKQ sources.
      With utmost frustration and disgust-

      Sincerely,
