We have been purchasing Morton water softener salt pellets for the past year. Every bag we have received has rusted salt pellet in the bag. 25% of the bag has broken down to pure salt and not pellets. I reached out to cs 4/18/2025 and havent heard back. We were told Morton water softener pellets were the best around. We now have to separate the whole bag and pick out the bag salt and the grained salt. As both of these have caused several issues for our softener. Overall we have thrown out about 12 bags due to grained salt, rusted, rotten salt. And we have spent 300 just on repairs due to the grained salt and rusted. I am asking for replacement of the 12 bags and return of repairsBusiness Response

I recently been having issue with my stomach and been seeing medical professionals for this issue. I recently bought a new seasoning bottle from Mortons Salt. I have used it before the salt suddenly became hard and I opened it to my disgust to see dead maggots inside. The company has not reached out to me to make it correct or for any empathy. Even with pictures. I have reported it to the *** as well.Business Response

I purchased a Morton water softener on 09/18/24 from Menards. Upon carrying the package to a basement and opening, it was discovered the package was incomplete and missing necessary pieces rendering the item purchased useless and delaying installation. In the Morton manual the customer is requested to contact the manufacturer Morton for any issues or defects. On 09/19/24 I contacted Morton customer service for rectification. I provided them with the required information to receive my full purchase instead of incomplete. On 09/20/24 I was informed by Morton customer service they would not send me the items missing from my purchase due to my receptacle being a P.O. Box and have offered me no additional resolution. I now have to drag the heavy item back out of a basement to return it as it is defective and unable to be installed. I would hope Quality Control would be able to see something so simple, but I speculate the incomplete package is **************** Office Boxes receive mail. That is what they are for. It is abundantly apparent that sending a package to a P.O. Box is ENTIRELY a common practice, but Morton has other intentions.Sold me a defective product and does not intend to honor the purchasing agreement and warranty.Customer Answer

Morton salt promised $30 reimbursement for snow melt/ ice melt, three jugs bought for my service dogs. This way dogs Paws don't burn. Product in jug was chunky no good. **************** number on jug was woman named ***** with extraordinary noise in background and rotten attitude. Entire call took 35 minutes. Committed to refund and for me to throw jugs away. Refund has not showed up and it's been several months. I thought this woman was very odd to begin with because she was very repetitious and very flighty and very forgetful and very distracted and I asked her repeatedly if she worked for Morton salt. I would like the $30 refund promise to me please. I've been a fan of this product for a lot of years because it doesn't hurt the dog's feet like normal snow melt doesBusiness Response

Purchased Morton salt for the front yard sidewalk. I have an assistance dog and I don't want his feet burned by regular salt. We had snow this year. My Morton salt in the jugs had been compromised evidently and was unporable. Phone number on side of jug. Spoke to rude remote representative according to corporate. Name ******. Kids screaming in background. Rude condescending kept me on hold for 15 minutes. The entire call took 40 minutes. Unnecessarily. I read him information from both jugs the ex numbers etc I don't have my receipt no more. He said it didn't matter and then he took it back and said he'd send me a check and then he took that back and said he wouldn't send me a check. The guy sounded like he was on some kind of drugs like he had fun with me like he had fun toying with me? I am a retired school teacher I work hard for my money it's springtime now and after fighting all this time for a refund who needs more salt he tried to force coupons on me when he promised me a money back return. I informed him I was reporting him to corporate and he laughed at me and said so what. I have used Morton salt since the 60s and I don't think this is anything that the Morton company wants to hear. I could barely hear him because of the screaming children in the background. And then a woman walked in the door and started yelling at him. I just want my $22 back for the two jobs at this point. Too unusable jugs of Pet friendly salt for the ground. And still why in the world would a well-renowned company treat a customer this way?
