    In June of 2024 I was looking for prospective apartments, I was lead to believe the apartment that I was renting was a legal apartment up to code and just a converted business unit. When attempting to set up any form of legal address there, I discovered it was not, and it is infact an illegal conversion not at all up to code.Tried to contact and break lease and get refund but company became non responsive.

    My wife and lived in an apartment managed by DMG. In our view, DMG did a very poor job of managing and maintaining the building. It took months for my wife to get a key fob from DMG for the keyless entry system. Later, when DMG changed the keyless entry system, they refused to give us enough key fobs for everyone in the apartment. DMG used a incapable outside contractor to power wash the garage - the contractor was not supervised and did not ventilate the garage, leading to a carbon monoxide buildup that forced the evacuation of the building. DMG also failed to adequately care for the building in the winter, leading to a burst pipe that forced the evacuation of the building before 6:00 a.m. one winter morning and a multi--day period when hot water was unavailable. DMG also failed to maintain the building in other ways - our neighbor had sewage coming up through his kitchen sink one day, the back stairway smelled of garbage, and the building was generally not kept particularly clean. DMG also would not fix broken lighting in the parking garage for months, despite residents' complaints that the garage was dark and unsafe. Beyond its care for the building, DMG was also very difficult to work with. When my wife and I learned we need to leave a month early, we informed DMG we were breaking the lease but would pay for the last month if DMG tried to, but could not release the unit early. DMG refused to advertise the earlier availability and, instead, threatened us repeatedly to refer us to a collection agency and damage our credit rating.

    We signed a lease at their property on Clybourn under the assumption that we had a reserved space on the roof.Since signing the lease, management has proceeded to build a dog run and putting green over the length of our apartment (replacing the reserved space for our unit), the dog run specifically over both bedrooms in the unit. A communal seating area is also placed over our living room and hallway entry.This rooftop deck was built without any sort of inspection by a structural engineer, or permit from the city, and the noise generated from both dogs and humans running and playing directly above out unit is ridiculously loud. Emails to management have gone nowhere, and got us a patronizing "In apartment living it is to be expected to hear some noise coming from neighbors." We've had literal helicopters fly directly over the unit and fighter jets from the air and water show that generated less noise than a dog running across their poorly constructed rooftop deck.Management has set forth no guidelines for the use of this communal space, and routinely violates the quiet enjoyment clause of our lease by continuing to operate this communal dog run in an area that has a PLETHORA of areas where dogs can be exercised.

    Our building has had no gas since May 11th 2023 at 2:21 pm. Management sent out a mass text saying gas was suddenly shut off for the time being.May 12 4:13 pm they send another text stating they fixed the error but *********** cannot approve until May 16 8 am. Gas was not fixed May 17 we get an email stating they are still trying to resolve issue.We have had no updates since then. Theyve ignored all calls, voicemails, texts, and emails. Weve contacted *********** directly but they will give ** no information to help. They also responded to my ****** review stating they fixed the issue when they have yet to do so.

    Daniel Management Group manages the apartment complex at ************************************************** This management company told tenants in the building on Friday (5/12/2023) that there was an 'emergency' gas issue so our cooking gas and hot water would not work for the time being. They later texted ** the same day that the issue was fixed but ************ needs to check the fixes to ensure safety before the gas is turned back on, this could occur at the earliest on 5/16/2023 / the following Tuesday. So the five days go by, Tuesday comes and goes, and management has not given ** an update. They haven't informed ** of anything since those texts on Friday and they aren't responding whatsoever to other tenants and I reaching out. Our whole building has been without gas for a week now (no nobody can shower, cook, have heat in their apartment, or dry their clothes).
