I am writing to file a complaint regarding a parking violation notice issued by LAZ Parking Chicago for the ********************************* Parking location. On June 10, 2025, I received a letter addressed to my fiance indicating a delinquent payment and a warning about potential collections activity. This was the first notice either of us has received. The notice claims that a violation occurred involving our vehicle, but neither my fiance nor I have ever visited the ****************** area in *********. We are the sole drivers of the vehicle in question.Upon reviewing the violation online using the notice number, I found that it was issued for a silver Dodge Caravan. However, the license plate listed matches our vehicle a white Nissan Rogue. This appears to be a clear case of mistaken license plate entry by the issuing officer.I attempted to file an appeal through the *** website but was unable to do so due to technical restrictions. I then called the phone number listed on the notice and was transferred to the on-site manager, Betram. I explained the situation and pointed out the error, but he was dismissive, unhelpful, and stated that I could choose to pay or not pay. He provided no assistance in correcting the mistake, despite the possibility that this issue could wrongly impact our credit report.Additionally, there is no photographic evidence available on the *** website or in the notice that could corroborate their claim. Without proper documentation or a fair appeal process, I am concerned about this violation being sent to collections in error.I am seeking assistance in having this citation properly dismissed and ensuring it does not affect our credit or result in unjust collections activity. I also want to note that the conduct of the manager I spoke with was unprofessional and unhelpful.Initial Complaint

On April 17, 2005, I was charged full price of $40 to park in the garage at ******************* because my parking validation was run twice and smudged. The employee at the garage provided a contact business card and assured me I would be credited the difference. When I reached out to the point of contact, I was told I could only receive future credit. I'm moving out of state and I would like the refund I was initially promised. I have already provided ****** ***** with photos of my validation and receipt. Happy to provide again.Initial Complaint

I have been receiving monthly subscription invoices since November 2024. I first purchased the monthly subscription in November, however, I had issues accessing the HELP option on the website for further assistance after purchasing it. I was also having issues at the parking garage so I purchased One Time Purchases instead. I reached out to site manager ******* ******* regarding the issue and requested cancellation/refund. I informed him that I will cancel the November monthly subscription and buy the One Time Purchases until Im ready to buy the monthly subscription again. He only responded to confirm that I would like to cancel to which I confirmed. However, I continued to receive invoices for the monthly subscription. Over the course of the last few months, I have called the regional office, customer services, account management, and ******* many times, I left voicemails and even emailed them, but no one has answered or responded back to me and yet I continue to receive invoices with a balance of $580 now. This is unacceptable and I shouldnt have to be held accountable for the lack of professionalism and responsiveness from LAZ Parking. I continued reaching out via email and calls and still no response. Therefore I would like to file a complaint regarding this company and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.Initial Complaint

This business changed their billing policy to include a $30 credit card processing fee in September. They initially did not send any information about how to sign up for automatic payments to not be subject to the fee.I followed the steps when finally sent to enroll in automatic payments. When the payment was not taken out on 9/1, I sent an email inquiring about what may have gone wrong and worried that I may receive a late fee. This email went unanswered and I had to go to the parking office to get the managers phone numbers. At that time, I was told that I was fully paid up after insisting that nothing had been taken out of my accounts. The next month I had two parking installments to pay and again I inquired about what might have been wrong. At that time, I was told that the payment method was not selected as the primary. I went ahead and selected the automatic payments as the primary payment method. The following month, no money was taken out of my account. LAZ ******************** had an in-person event at my building so I went and talked to the managers in person. For the first time, after being in communication with them for months, I was told that my payments were bouncing and that I would be subject to a fee due to this. I reminded them of our previous communication and they agreed it was unfair to charge me. I switched to another account because we troubleshooted that the account information was typed in wrong. The following month no payment was taken out. Out of frustration of MONTHS with no resolution, I decided to just use my credit card.On February 1st, I received 4 $25 late payment fines. Based on the conversations I had with management such as your payment went through and we will not charge you a late fee these charges feel very unfair and unethical.Initial Complaint

I have been given fraudulent tickets. 4 to be exact in the last 6 weeks and most of those times it was by the same individual that saw I had paid. It showed as paid on his system and he even went as far as not printing and putting the ticket on my windshield because he knew I was not eligible but managed to come in the mail to me anyway. If this continues I have grounds to open a harassment case by this individual and will have to *** *** in order to do it. I suggest you call me so we can try to fix this without going to court and you guys losing. I have evidence and I have witnesses to the threat he made to me.Initial Complaint

*** is conducting a bait and switch at their location at ******************************************************************************. I've always used this lot when visiting my family in ** and have never had issues until recently. Self Park Hourly rates are clearly posted at the entrance to the garage, but once inside, *** will charge you almost twice the amount advertised. *** charges per 24 hours, and being there for 4.5 days, I was expecting to pay $122 total ($25 per 24hrs + $22 per 12hrs). When I saw the charge come from *** that was twice the amount advertised, I thought "this is clearly a mistake". However, there was no living person ******* the garage to speak with, so I put it off and planned to contact *** or disput the charge after leaving Chicago and returning home. All in all, I ended up paying $210.35 for the 4.5 days I parked - almost $100 more than advertised. I've tried calling the *** Chicago customer service line, but the mailbox is completely full and no one ever picks up. I tried disputing the charges with my bank, but *** had the audacity to deny the dispute, saying I agreed to their pricing by paying the rate upfront, even though I was advertised a rate that was almost half what they charged me. They're conducting a bait and switch, luring in customers with one rate, than charging twice the amount. It's disgusting - they deserve punishment and I'm demanding that *** refund me the amount that they overcharged me.Business Response

On Saturday, January 6th I entered the ******************** Parking garage approximately 2 pm. The ticket I pulled said 1:50 pm. I shopped at several stores, **************** Ulta, and ********* While at Ulta the cashier said her terminal was broken so the garage was free today and the gate will automatically open. There was no need to get my ticket stamped. Upon leaving the garage the attendant said it is not free and he does not deal with the stores. l said I understand, yet why is the cashier saying it's free and gate is broken? Attendant said the exit gate was broken but now its fixed, and the fee has nothing to do with entry gate? Totally confusing and rude. I paid the $11 yet want a refund for the misunderstanding of the broken gate issue and confusing rudeness of attendant. The only reason I paid is the attendant said corporate would issue a $75 fee and he is not opening the gate. I wasn't lying about the conversation of the associate at Ulta yet attendant was not believing. Communication is an issue. Why don't attendants know which stores have broken machines? So wrong....Initial Complaint

Laz parking is a third party parking enforcement agency contracted by the city of Chicago. I have received multiple parking tickets, even though I have a permit. The city of Chicago confirmed I am using the permit correctly. I confronted the Laz parking attendant and he said that he didnt know what the parking pass was. As a contractor for the city, Laz parking must educate their parking enforcement agents. I have gotten multiple tickets due to their negligence. I now have to go to court for three tickets to resolve and dispute the charges due to their lack of fulfilling their contractual obligations.Initial Complaint

On July 6th I parked at *************************** Chicago, IL I did not know that I needed to have a reservation or pay in advance. I pulled in the lot and was told to park in a spot and they took my keys. When I returned they told me I owed a $82 fine for not paying in advance. I told them I was calling the police and they told me if I paid for the parking the would remove the ticket. I agreed and paid $21.85 for parking. They did not forgive the ticket and I just received my second notice from a lawyer. I have attached the receipt that I paid for the parking. I have also attached the letter form their lawyer. This is fraud.Initial Complaint

I received a parking violation notice from LAZ Parking Chicago this month (June 2023) via mail. I attempted to contact the email and phone number provided on the notice; however, I was unable to reach anyone. The email response stated that my email could not be delivered, and no one returned my call when I tried to reach them at multiple phone numbers. I am disputing the parking fee (violation #********) due to inaccurate records. The car listed (Chevrolet, Cruze) is not my car, nor is it my license plate shown in the picture. They inaccurately have my License plate # ******* listed when the license plate # on the car in the picture is AN85678. This error needs to be corrected and my information removed from this violation since I am evidently not liable for this parking fee.
