On January 22, 2023, I received an invoice from this business to perform exterior masonry restoration work, deck/porch repairs, and some (pending owner/contractor decisions) interior work. This invoice was for a $15,000 down payment on the project. I paid the invoice. In continuing down this path, this contractor proved to have misrepresented his ability to complete the work. After about 4 weeks of attempting to resolve and get back on track with the project, the contractor and I made the decision to terminate the agreement and his work on the project. At this point, the only work this contractor had completed was some minor interior work, and nothing of what was detailed in the initial invoice. The verbal agreement was that the contractor would refund $7,500 of the down payment the following week. When I emailed to confirm this, the contractor denied the agreement and has recently stopped responding entirely. The contractor has also retained a key to the property as well as the building permit (which I paid for an expediter for), despite having agreed to return both.

Very disappointed. *** came out and gave us a great quote for rebuilding a brick wall, chimney, stripping our front porch railings / repaint and somehow convinced me to do concrete work in the front, which really isn't needed but they price was good. He came out with the estimate, which stated a 50% deposit was required. He mentioned initially that a deposit wasn't required but we opted to give him 20% to get started. For someone who didn't want a deposit initially, he hounded me for the deposit for a week when I told him the funds would take a while to transfer over. This should have been red flag #1. He comes out to collect the check and brings one of his folks with him to get started. His guy comes over with a ************************* and takes a chunk out of the concrete and then stops, they need to pull a concrete permit. So now my concrete is damaged but they are working on permits (July 17, 2023). While waiting on permits they decide to tackle the sand blasting of the railings. The end product was good, they stripped and primed the railings but that's where it ended. They didn't use anything to block the spray from the house so in the process ruined the window screens and took paint off the front door / window casings. I mention the mess as there was sand everywhere and am told they will clean it up. Needless to say, that was the last I saw of anyone. He was going to replace some lentils as part of the project, they have been sitting in my driveway for 4 months. I'm out $2400 plus the cost of fixing what they screwed up including some broken concrete. *** and I have been texting back and forth for months with a common response, "I'll call you tomorrow". As of October 24, 2023: No call after multiple texts. I will be forwarding them, along with my formal complaint, to the ************************* Avoid using him at all costs unless you love frustration and have money to burn.
