    I was a member of the ******* Athletic club from 2015-2018. I attempted to cancel my membership in 2019 via written statement. *** continued to charge my account. I ceased visiting the gym in January 2019 (my last visit 1/1/2019). *** continued to charge me monthly dues for 4 more months (through April 2019). Having been unsuccessful in attempts to cancel membership, I canceled the credit card they had been charging.In summer 2019 ***s sent the dues to a collection agency. Out of frustration and concern for my credit score, I settled with the collector in summer 2019.December 26, 2022 I re-joined the gym at a new rate. On January 8, 2023 I received communication from member advisor, *******************, stating I owed the Club $147 from 2019. I replied that this was incorrect and that my account had been settled. On January 13, 2023, I met with another membership advisor who insisted I had a debt to the Club, but that they were willing to settle for 50%. I again stated my dues from 2019 were settled and I did not owe anything. Data shows my last visit to any *** was 1-1-2019. Data shows I paid full dues through April 2019 (despite never visiting the club or using services) When I visit the club now I am stopped at the front desk with confusion and different employees discussing me in muffled voices. I have requested this issue be settled as am paid in full for current services, and prior services were outsourced to a collection agency which the Club now says they have no record of. It is inconceivable to me for the *** to seek dues which were (1) sent to collection and (2) already settled. I am requesting completion to this issue and confirmation that my account is in good standing. I request that the *** STOP seeking unwarranted, unauthorized payments.
