Hi BBB! My name is ****, I am a nurse at Cook County Health. *************************** is a theft by deception. I hired him via *************** Chicagoland ********************* Services. **** was very impressive in his fast communication and ability to help me with my home project quickly. I had a non working microwave to be replaced, peel and stick wallpaper and backsplash to be hung, along with handing 6 photos for my new condo. He arrived to the job on time and did a mediocre job at best. He finished the wallpaper on one wall, as well as the backsplash. He also took the microwave down and failed to install the new one. He told me at the end of the day that his back hurt and that he would return the next morning to hang the microwave and photos. He told me he needed to be paid for the days work with an advance for the next days work as well. We agreed on a time for his arrival the next morning and he left for the night. I later got a ******** message telling me he was in a car accident and in order to get from the suburbs to the city, he needed $65.00 in Uber money to be repaid to me when he got his car situation under control. He stole my money. He stole $50.00 Uber money and $400 I paid for him to do the job as a whole. The parts of the job he did do left me with a mess (did not clean up after himself) and left portions of the wall not covered and gaps in between the wallpaper slides and backsplash brick. I filed a report with ******* and they were unable to recover my money. He failed to finish the job and stopped communicating with me. I am asking BBBs help in recovering my money and keeping this scam artist out of other peoples hard earned money and home projects. Thank you for your help.
