At first glance, Media Pages appears to be a directory/telephone advertising firm. An investigation was prompted on April 11, 2017, after BBB received an external inquiry regarding recent complaints filed to Media Pages in Chicago and a question as to whether or not the physical address listed was accurate. On November 2, 2017, all recent complaints were reviewed and the above pattern was identified. After reviewing complaints, customer reviews and scam tracker inquiries, it was determined that Media Pages had garnered 36 complaints across 18 states, all of which form a pattern of alleged questionable business practices as addressed to the company. Of those complaints, 11 have gone unanswered by the business. Additionally, the company has also received 14 customer reviews, 13 of those are negative. Allegations within those complaints allege that consumers are being requested to pay for print advertising they never ordered even if they have never engaged with Media Pages prior to.

Customers allege receiving invoices with an amount due ranging anywhere from $400-$500 for services that were never ordered. BBB did a series of reviews including internal complaint audits and in person mystery shopping to confirm the operating status of the alleged physical location. It was determined that the location in BBB's files was a mail pick-up service.

BBB notified this company of the pattern of complaints on 11/2/2017 and again on 11/28/2017 and did not receive a response. An internal investigation was concluded on November 28, 2017 after being unable to confirm a physical location as addressed as well as receiving no response to the aforementioned pattern notifications.

A BBB Consumer Alert was issued on December 13, 2017 based on BBB's findings. Based on the information detailed above, BBB cannot confirm the legitimacy of Media Pages, Inc.
