      When we joined the program we were optimistic to be able to do this but things in our end got too difficult so we called to cancel. We understood when we canceled we would be charged 27% of the original balance of one of the creditors and agreed to let them make the last payment to the other creditor. This call was made on March 7th! It is now March 31st and I am being told I have to wait for a supervisor to call me within 48 to 72 hours?? I have called them weekly about this but no one seems to know why the account hasnt been cancelled?! They owe me the balance in my dedicated account but I have to wait because no one there knows how to cancel the account??? I want compensation for the aggravation and stress I have endured over the last month!

      Signed up with Five Lakes Law Group for assistance with debt settlement. Over a course of 3 months, I deposited $2359.39 into an account with Five ******************** Law Group. They paid off one account for $260.00 and made payment to another account for $466. Due to the lack of settlements taking place, I terminated the agreement and was promised the monies from our account to be returned. However, Five Lakes Law Group instead charged us $1630.39 for "program fees". We were informed that there will be no penalty if we terminated the agreement.

      "Retainer Fee: A flat fee of $32,344.11 equaling *****% of enrolled debt(s), based on debt amount at enrollment and subject to verification. This fee is earned by **** upon successfully reaching a resolution offer for a debt and first payment upon such offer, or the otherwise successful resolution of the Enrolled Debt (e.g., cancellation of debt, successful dispute)."

      I signed up for debt consolidation with Five Lakes law group. They did not tell me how long the process would take. They also did not tell me upfront about their fees. They have removed $3000 from my account that I did not agree to and was unaware of the fees, and I would like the money refunded and would like somebody to force the company to be upfront with their customers

      They have been providing debt settlement services to me Around September of last year, I tried adding another credit card account from ********** ************ As I have an ongoing car loan from them, they were unable to take on the credit card Their first braindead move was not telling me or telling me why So months later, when I noticed, I asked them to enroll the credit card again Here the second and much worse braindead move - BOTH times I asked them to add it, they increased the deposit I automatically give them every two weeks So essentially, they have been stealing money from me since that increase in deposits was contingent on them actually representing me for the debt from *********************** And I have reached out SIX different times. The first 4 times, their representatives were so poorly trained they seemed allergic to actually responding to the message I'd written - always responding to an issue I never mentioned The 5th time, they pledged to correct the mistake - they did not And even after all this nonsense - and beyond the six attempts reaching out through chat messages, repeatedly telling them over the phone the issue - they continue to steal close to an extra $100 dollars per month for NOTHING

      Don't f****** lie to me. You have NOT reached out about this issue AT ALL. I am rejecting this response because in the time between BBB messages, I have received:

      15 emails
      2 voicemails
      2 text messages

      ALL about resolution offers from credit cards

      But ZERO contact about you ceasing your actions of STEALING from me. ZERO contact about RETURNING the MONEY you have STOLEN. I have made it quite clear how you need to act after your customer service reps * whom you have done a s*** job of training * have failed to a degree that can only be described as "aggressive"

      I have reached out to your customer support exhaustively to have this remedied and I refuse to do so any longer

      So go f*** yourself for being a lying, pathetic, spineless excuse for a human being and FIX THIS NOW

      I hired Five Lakes 2 years ago and like all the other complaints, I have had issues from the start. In January of this year, I cancelled my contract, withdrew the remaining accounts enrolled, and requested the remaining funds in my dedicated account be refunded. I was assured by 3 different people this would happen. Here it is in March, and again I'm being told the account would be reviewed for "graduation", no more withdrawals from my checking account would occur into my dedicated account, and the remaining funds would be sent by ACH back into my checking they were withdrawn from. They are just stalling so they don't have to refund the money. Attorneys are held to a standard by the ********************* and I find it very interesting that not one attorney is listed on their website. Mark my words, if I don't get my money back very quickly, I will be calling the State Bar to file a complaint against ALL the attorneys working at this "Law Firm Group" that's if there actually is any attorneys on staff. I don't and won't recommend this business to anyone, not even my worst enemy. BEWARE and BELIEVE the other complaints listed here because they are telling the truth.

      I did my research on this company and at that time there wasn't too much negative review going around but, now I see I am not the only one scammed from this company. In fact I have spoke to several now. The salesman that talked me into this (explaining the program) made no mention of the insane fees they charge and how. I had several accounts in this program for about 4 months, they paid 3 of my creditors at total of 350. and THEY took ***** plus from me for "fees". Before this program I had not missed or was late, to a single creditor. Now my credit is destroyed after this company told me to block my creditor calls & not to make any payments to them. They tell me I signed up for this somewhere in their 60 pages of fine print with computer generated initials. No, I never would have agreed to them taking 27% of total balance of each account, not the settled amount, either way, I never would have agreed if told. This company takes more that your creditors would, go directly to your creditor if you are having a hard time, steer clear of this company who takes full advantage of vulnerable/desperate people in need of relief, one of many who monetized after the pandemic. I honestly do not know how these people sleep at night. I am going to the ************************ to report them as unethical, then the attorney general. Shut them down!

      I am rejecting this response because: First, No, I was NOT told verbally about these rediculous fees and never signed anything stating I accepted them. I have notified the *** about the unethical 60 pages of fineprint, taking that amount of money from people trying to SAVE money is unjust. Also, I have spoken with all of my creditors, some say you never even contacted them and some say they do not even deal with companies like yours, which I was never made aware of so that I could handle these accounts before it went to far. You told me to block numbers & not to pay them anything, and that in tern ruined my good credit for years to come! I am building my case.

      This place is a scam! None of their agents provide the same information. They are all constantly giving inaccurate information and pretending to fake fit it Their managers never call you when they are suppose to.       Five Lakes Law group conned me!!! NO ONE told me about the fees. At the end of the first year, they still had not resolved a single account. They were taking $264.00 a month from me and only using $168.00 of it. I called to ask where the additional $96.00 went to and they told me Fees. As I said, NO ONE told me about these fees. In one year, they took $1,152.00 from me! Reducing my debt was irrelevant because they took money I could have used towards bills. These people are con artists! Do not trust them! I have terminated my agreement and it is still showing that I have an upcoming deposit.

      I obtained Five Lakes Law Groups services to help me with credit card debt settlement approximately 2 years ago. Due to repeated mistakes and misinformation from their agents, this program has cost me thousands of dollars. I would greatly appreciate any help in trying to get my money back.

      I am rejecting this response because: I did not call to skip a payment. I do not authorize them to take any more money from my account and they are still doing so. Furthermore, this issue is such a small part of the complaint. I am more concerned about the thousands of dollars I have given them which has gone nowhere. Account managers *** and ********* have detailed notes about the issues my account. If someone could please contact one of them for more information, that would be helpful. The last time I called, I asked the customer service agent to allow me to speak with account manager, ***, and she refused.

      They included my car in resolving and paying my debt. My car was repossessed and no payment made in over a year. When told about repossession they cant do anything about it because they are just telling me that the car wasnt supposed to be on there. They kept it on there and I wasnt supposed to talk to any creditors but they made the mistake.
