I applied for a unit that they explained was available immediately and I was the only applicant. They said they would get back to me within 24 hours. I waited five days and heard nothing. I let them know I was going to move forward with another unit because I needed to secure alternative housing options. They did not respond, I applied to another unit, and then they called me later that day and said I was going to be approved. I told them I wasn't going to move forward and didn't want my application process and requested a refund of the $495 move in fee I paid. They said because I inconvenienced them and they turned down other applicants, and that they would not be sending my money back to me as a result. The real estate agent refused to give me the name of the property manager and proceeded to block my phone number. They listed it as a condo, and it is not it is an apartment. I was able to get in contact with the previous tenant who gave me the contact number and name of the owner who hasn't returned my calls. I have reported them to *****, Zillow and sent them a final email requesting the refund. I said I was aware on the phone that the $79 application fee would not be returned, and that I was only requesting the $495 move in fee.

Thank you for reaching out to us .  First of all ,a full refund  for the processing fee  was send it back to her Zelle account on July 25TH.. This applicant was approved to rent a unit and decided not to move forward . On the application form that she signed, is stated that there is a processing fee refundable to the applicant if the application is denied by the landlord, and non refundable when you get approved and decide to change your mind and rent a different unit somewhere else. This application was approved by the landlord and the applicant decided to rent a different apartment, and she mentioned  will not moving forward.  The company that rent the unit refunded the money back ,and no-one blocked anyone's phone number .  This was an email that I sent  to her 11 days ago from condominiumsforrent101 <*****************************************>

Processing fee is $495 , if your application is denied for any reason the processing fee is refundable.

She also send a email " If I am approved may I get the keys next week to move my couch from ********* to there to avoid having to store it for a week then pick up the officials keys August 1st?" Application was approved but she decided not to move forward.

The application was approved by the landlord and she decided not to move forward . She got refunded (via Zelle) the full amount of the $495.00 processing fee, two days after her decision.
