      SHOULDN'T GET EVEN ONE STAR. Health Alliance Medicare Advantage plan has a "perk" through the nation's benefit in which you received funds for Be fit $360. I am disabled and live in a rural area. I attempted to use that Be Fit benefit for a N*** membership. $149. Card was declined.
      I called the Nations Benefit and they advised they don't cover weight loss programs and that I have to join a gym. I explained I live in a rural and I am disabled. I then contacted Health Alliance to find out if there were exceptions. Call reference #******* on 12/7/24 . I was advised that you have to join a gym or go to the Y. I explained my geographic and physical limitations. Dora apologized but there is no exception. She further recommended I could pay f or it myself and submit a reimbursement request. In my opinion that infers there is a possibility they would cover. I asked if there was some assurance of reimbursement. After repeating several times and explaining my question. I was told that Health Alliance would probably NOT reimburse. While I do appreciate her honesty, this was misleading. In fact, this entire notion of having a prepaid card with $360 for gym membership is a sham. How many Medicare patients in rural areas are able to avail of this. The other portion of the card is to buy OTC medications with NO ASSURANCE of reimbursement UNLESS you order through their catalog of over priced medications or supplies. I pay for my coverage and they sell this as a perk just so they can keep the unused funds from a prepaid card. How much money do they get back from unused funds from Medicare recipients. My experience with the coverage of Health Alliance has declined drastically in the last year. They change formularies and have no substitute inhalers that has the same components. They deny generics. FED UP!

      Health Alliance is a self funded insurance by C**** ****** for employees. They have shown time and time again that they do not care for the health and wellbeing of their employees and families when it comes to honoring the word of their representatives. My spouse and I were going through fertility treatments which is already a stressful thing. Health Alliance has ZERO local fertility specialists in my immediate area. First issue of many. The biggest issue I’m dealing with now is they refuse to HONOR what their own representative told our fertility financial counselor of our benefits when they financially cleared us for services. This is huge as it relates to how much the insurance would cover vs how much we were to cover. We have in writing what health alliance representatives stated was the coverage by shady g****. And after all services were complete health alliance paid NOTHING! They claimed they’re two never said what Shady G**** said and are claiming it is all made up by their response. I personally spoke to a rep that validated what was said as it’s in their computer system! Shady g**** also in email states she spoke to health alliance and WHO she spoke to. The fact this insurance company refuses to honor what their rep said and pay the bill shows the DO NOT CARE for their employees or their families! I have now had to file with DOI (department of insurance of Illinois) to have the state step in and review! Proving the wrong information and not honoring it has huge financial impact to us as that means the bills are larger than we were told because health alliance paid nothing! Beware of their insurance, and their representatives making statements that health alliance will not honor!!

      Due to an error made by a Health Alliance customer service representative, I am out over $600. In summary, the rep told me the incorrect date for when my coverage would end, so I scrambled to find new coverage very quickly even though I was still technically covered by Health Alliance for the next 2 months. Again, I paid over $600 unnecessarily because of this error, and over the course of many months and many phone calls with other customer service reps, they were unable to offer me a satisfactory solution to their error. Ultimately, they refused to reimburse me for the other coverage that I only enrolled in due to their error. Would not recommend. For a company that revenues over $10 mil annually, you would think they could afford to reimburse their member of almost a decade a few hundred dollars to rectify their error.
