    Date of the Transaction: • February 2: Requested a new furnace from ******** **** ****** *****. *** assigned Reliable Mechanical Services. Amount of Money Paid to the Business: • Paid $2,275 for non-covered costs on February 2 (Invoice #****). What the Business Committed to Provide: • ******** **** ****** partially approved a brand-new furnace, and Reliable Mechanical committed to installing a ******* brand furnace which is equivalent to my old furnace quality. Nature of the Dispute: • Furnace installed was a "*****" brand, not the promised ******* brand. Furnace malfunctioned next day after installation and leaked water to the basement. Multiple attempts to contact Reliable Mechanical for resolution were unsuccessful. Whether or Not the Business Has Tried to Resolve the Problem: • Reliable Mechanical did not reply to my texts and phone calls or those from *** for days. Eventually, they refused to acknowledge the issue, mocked the Consumer Protection Division, declined to take back the broken furnace, and refused to cover hotel expenses. The malfunctioning furnace has been sitting in the basement for six days, with water leaks possibly causing rust on its parts. Reliable Mechanical has not visited since the installation. Account/Order/Tracking Number: • Invoice #**** for the payment made. If the Issue Involves Advertising: • The issue is not related to advertising. When and Where the Ad Was Seen or Heard: • N/A Conclusion: • Seeking immediate removal of the failed furnace and a refund. Also, reimbursement for hotel expenses due to the non-functional furnace. Specific Request to BBB: • Resolve the dispute by having Reliable Mechanical take back the failed furnace and refund the payment. Also, I demand reimbursement for hotel expenses incurred due to the lack of heating caused by the malfunctioning furnace.

    Reliable Mechanical AKA Reliable Heating & Cooling. They are ******** ************ #1 company to send out in the ******* ** area. Lacari came out to check my furnace for a possible blower motor issue which was affecting my AC. When he showed up the 1st time he spent less than 20 mins diagnosing my furnace. Listened to it & said, "Yep, it's the blower motor." The 2nd trip out to replace the blower motor was less than a 10 min visit when he told my daughter, "Your furnace is condemned." My daughter said, "Ok, Thank You." & he left. I called Reliable at 4:40 pm on 8/4 to find out what was wrong. How my furnace went from only a blower motor to condemned in 2 20 min visits together. No answer. I finally got a call in the morning on 8/7. I played phone tag with Lindsey who told me that the furnace was condemned & *** was replacing it. Everything was good & she'd let me know when the new furnace was in for an install. The following message I got was a bill for 2550.00 that I had to accept BEFORE the furnace could be installed. It was the stuff *** didn't cover. She was nice enough to let me know that my total was actually only going to be 2450 because she took the 100 fee off for not needing a permit. How does a first inspection & trouble shoot go from "You need a blower mower" to a "condemned furnace"? Did you not really trouble shoot & inspect it the first time? At what point did you decide that it was condemned with the heat exchanger when all you did was take the cover off? Now you're running under Reliable Heating & Cooling after running under Reliable Mechanical. Both of your names will be on my *** contract not to use your company along with Allen L******* as well. I got a 2nd opinion after my furnace miraculously started working again. Guess what?!?!? It is just the blower motor.
