I recently purchased a power stop brake set from *********. The brake set was through power stop manufacturer. There was a $65 mail in rebate included when purchasing the brake set. I sent the original rebate in immediately after purchasing the kit in November of 2024. I waited until March of 2025 and still didnt receive my rebate. I called in to customer service to complain that I didnt get a rebate. They stated they would reissue a check. I recently received the new check on July 2nd. The check was dated for April 2025 and the expiration date was in June. They had sent me an already expired check. After I contacted customer service again, they emailed me back saying the rebate offer has now ended and there is nothing they can do on their end. This is a scam! I had no fault in this matter and to make things worse, they refuse to honor the original rebate. They claim the first check was sent out and it never was received. The only reason I purchased the brake set from them was because of the rebate. I am irate. The BBB should know that companies like this scam hundreds of customers with rebates due to situations just like this.Business Response

On May 27, 2025, I purchased Power Stop brake calipers through Buy Brakes for my 2016 Mustang to the tune of $518.00. I received the calipers and for my application added coats of heat-resistant paint that was baked in the sun for weeks to cure. When I presented the four calipers to my certified mechanic, I later learned I had received 2 right front calipers. I contacted Buy Brakes who had a CS *** ***** assist in ordering right down to the correct parts numbers. Power Stop (manufacturer) shipped two right and no left front caliper. Yesterday Buy Brakes contacted Power Stop regarding my claim. Power Stop stated that they would not stand behind their product because I painted it and refused to send a front "left" caliper. Brake Buy CS *** said there are complaints of Power Stop putting the wrong parts in for shipment, but Buy Brakes basically said, "sorry" but they would not act to cure the wrong items shipment. I want a front left caliper which retails for $142.00Business Response

I am rejecting this response because: As requested I have provided a copy of my receipt for the Power Brake calipers. The credit by Buy Brakes was for a *** brand caliper I purchased as I was attempting to get all four in that brand. When I could not, Buy Brakes accepted the *** caliper return (thus the $105.00 credit on the receipt) and set me up with all four Power Stop calipers at a cost to me of $518.00 with the left front caliper being $142.00. I am not a professional mechanic and use such services for my 2016 Mustang build when it comes to critical components like a whole brake upgrade. And while I'm a DYI backyard motorhead I know my limitations. I cannot tell the difference between calipers as quite frankly they look the same except where the fluid port is located, something my mechanic pointed out as he told me, sorry, two right fronts, no left. If Power Stop had any consumer consideration, they would be marking their rebuilt OEM caliper cores with proper placement identification, i.e. "LF, RF, LR & RR", rather than requiring shop grade mechanical skills to tell the difference. The very premise that Power Stop has absolved itself of an obvious shipping error and has refused to correct it by citing the improvements I made to their product for my application speaks volumes of consumer relations, Now I have to repeat with paint, bake and installation which I didn't even ask for renumeration for those items.
Sincerely,
******* ******Business Response

Hello,
Looking into means we are having a quality check conducted which is not quick. We do apologize for the wait. After having 3 pulled that were incorrect, we need to have our caliper department inspect the calipers. In which you should be receiving a correct caliper if you have not already.

I am rejecting this response because: By Power Stop's own admission they have quality control/proper part per order issues for the S550 Mustang calipers. I relied on PS to send me the proper fitting calipers the first time. I improved and customized at my expense these calipers for my custom brake build. I was unable to complete the installation of all four PS calipers because PS failed in its duty to ship proper parts and then have the gall to reject a return because I added the custom paint. If PS was sincere at all, they would have replaced the incorrect caliper with the proper one, refunded my expense for paint and what will be a $100 install expense when I have the correct LF caliper installed. So I reject settlement of this claim. PS sent the wrong caliper a second time but before I painted that one I had become informed of the proper fluid port position and saw where they sent the wrong caliper again. How about my trips to ***** to ship back PS's mistakes. So PS gets to abuse a consumer by sending the wrong part twice and their only consequence is sending me the correct caliper????? That dog does not ****. I expect a formal appology and a $100 payment of my expense to have the proper caliper installed. Had they sent the right caliper the first time the install would have been part of the overall ***** build by my mechanic. Now it has to be done seperatly. This is a bad actor getting away with bad conduct with no acceptance of responsibility or liability.
Sincerely,

I purchased a Powerstop KOE *****DK Brake Kit. It had a $115 rebate which is the reason why I bought it. I went to their website and downloaded the rebate form. The website or the form didn't show any excluded retailers. Several weeks later I got a mail from them saying "receipt submitted is from a non-qualifying store/retailer." So, I was surprised because I read everything carefully before submitting the rebate. I went back to their website to double check and holy cow they change their rebate form with Exclusion! Talk about bait and switch! I will attach both rebate forms so you can see the difference on the top. I feel this is fraudulent practice to change the terms.Business Response

I submitted my rebate request following the instructions outlined in the application form, yet my rebate was denied due to reasons listed as "non-qualifying." However, the terms and conditions of the rebate did not clearly mention the criteria for disqualification, leading to confusion about why my submission did not meet the requirements.Despite my attempts to resolve this matter directly with Powerstop, I have yet to receive a satisfactory response or any clarification other than them updating without notice of non-qualifying retailers/stores, and that is why my rebate was denied based on non-qualifying criteria that were not disclosed. I am now seeking assistance from the Better Business Bureau to help facilitate a resolution and ensure that the company upholds fair and transparent business practices.I respectfully request an investigation into this matter, including a thorough review of the rebate's terms and conditions, and that Powerstop be asked to clarify the disqualification criteria. I am seeking a full resolution of this issue, which includes either the approval of my rebate or a clear explanation of the reasons for its denial.Supporting Documents:Copy of the rebate submission form Copy of the denial notice from Powerstop Any relevant correspondence with Powerstop customer service Thank you for your time and attention to this complaint. I look forward to your response and assistance in resolving this matter.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I am reaching out to follow up on my unresolved complaint. As of March 19, 2025, I received a response stating that it could take 8 to 10 weeks to receive the check:"Sorry for the long process, but once a check is denied, the process to reissue is longer. Please bear with us."Despite this, the issue remains unresolved, and the business has not demonstrated efficiency in handling the matter. I would appreciate any guidance on what steps the BBB can take to address this situation, as the delay is becoming excessive. Please let me know how I should proceed. I have installed parts from this company. Big Brake Kit. They recalled the brake lines. Mine have failed. I cant get the company to replace or refund my cost. Or accept my receipt.Business Response
Date: 01/06/2025
The announcement of the recall of our brake hoses was based upon the products not meeting certain performance requirements required by federal regulation, based upon testing performed by a third-party laboratory. This suggests there is a risk that the brake hoses may leak and fail. To date PowerStop has not received any notifications of injuries as a result of this product. However, in light of the product testing failure and not meeting federal requirements, we would recommend you have the PowerStop brake hoses removed and replaced as soon as possible.
PowerStop is providing a remedy offer for end purchasers of this product. This entails providing refunds to customers that purchased the affected brake hoses as well as reimbursement of certain costs related to the removal of replacement of the brake hoses installed on your vehicle. For this remedy, please be sure to retain documentation for proof of purchase of PowerStop brake hoses and repair work related to removal of PowerStop brake hoses. I purchased a PowerStop brake and rotor kit KOE5516 for $279.99 with the expectation I would receive a $65.00 rebate from PowerStop. The company was offering this promotion with NO EXCLUDED RETAILERS listed! I have the original form because this kind of thing has happened to me before, so I saved it. Their form NOW lists several excluded retailers such as *******, ********, ******, etc. but when I purchased this item and submitted my form there were NO excluded retailers. This is deceptive to add exclusions after people like me have purchased items and expected to receive our rebate. I will attach my receipt for the purchase from ****** as well as the original form. You will see on the form as well as in the terms and conditions, there are no exclusions. I checked this multiple times before I purchased to make sure, so I should still receive the $65 rebate. Instead of the rebate, I received in the mail a letter stating "receipt submitted is from a non-qualifying store/retailer." This is a fraudulent business practice to not disclose ANYWHERE on the form or website a retailer which is non-qualifying.Business Response

I purchased a brake kit from Powerstop LLC through ****** on October *******. I used the link provided from Powerstop's very own website. I would think using a direct link from Powerstop's Website would mean ****** would be an authorized retailer.I then filed my rebate and the rebate form has no information about authorized retailer information on it.The company declined my rebate. This is clearly a bait and switch tactic. This company is highly unprofessional and shady.Business Response

I ordered a brake pad and rotor kit on may 27th 2024 for my 2013 GMC Acadia. I received some of the kit but the back calipers were on back order ( which was fine) thought I would get them in a couple of weeks. I still have not received them and it's been almost 4 months. I have called 3 different times asking where my parts are and when will I be getting them and all they tell me is it will be a couple more weeks. 3 different calls and 3 different dates and still nothing. I can't even drive my car since I don't have the part and have no idea when I will get them. They already took payment for them and don't seem to care if I get the parts or not.Business Response

I bought the kit for my 2004 **** F250.First order was lost and Amazon had to ship another kit. I installed the kit and cleaned up the Calipers for return to PowerStop. The package weight 76 lbs and cost to ship was $171.30 The refund was $160.00 when PowerStop received the calipers. So if I shipped the front & rear pairs back to Power Stop, Id loose $11.30 this doesnt seem like a great deal for the customer ( especially when ********************** brags about their refund policy.
