This happened on May 10,2023. My husband and I had a problem with our air conditioner and we were referred to call ricca heating & cooling by our home warranty company. They came out on may 10,2023 to look at our air conditioner to see what was wrong with it as it was icing over inside and icing over at the pipe that runs from the unit outside to the house. They told us that we had holes in the hose and would have to replace the unit outside. We were told that they would call and set up a time to get our unit replaced but never called us back to get the appt set up. Also my husband had made a comment to the employee that came and worked on our air conditioner that he had hoped it wouldn’t be over $200 and that is all he had on him and the employee said that it would be less than $100 for him coming out today to run a diagnostic test on the unit. The guy ended up charging my husband $200 which it never should have been that much to run a diagnostic test. We ended up getting a second opinion on the unit to see if it could be fixed or we needed to replace it and the second company that came out told us that it was the condenser and they could replace it. The condenser had fused together blocking the valve inside the unit and was causing the unit to ice over. I really think we got scammed by ricca heating & cooling and I think they need to hire employees that know what they are doing and not just trying to get us to get a new unit because they don’t really know what is wrong because the diagnostic test didn’t show that the condenser was bad. The second company told us the condenser wouldn’t have come up on the diagnostic test that you have to physically look at the condenser to see that is bad. I think ricca heating & cooling scammed my husband out of money and tried to get us to get a new air conditioner unit when we didn’t need one. I am just letting you know you need to go inform ricca heating & cooling to do their job right.we would like our money back from ricca.
