      We contracted with Shred-it in ***** 15 years ago to pick up confidential materials for destruction. We started with will-call, at some point they said that was no longer available. We recently audited our costs and found they were 2 to 3 times higher and most companies offered will call pick up. When we attempted to cancel the account they told us it would cost us over $1700 to cancel since our contract auto renews every 5 years automatically. They has never been reminder of upcoming renews, we are unhappy with their service, cost and deceptive business practice. We missed this window by a few weeks. I would hope the company can both look at this specific case as well as revisit this absurd and deceptive attempt at holding a business hostage as a customer. I hope that the new merger and likely larger company, Stericycle would end this sad practice. After 23 years in business I have never experienced anything so sad.

      The service has been completely mishandled. The pickup person came on July 31, 2025. There was only 1 full bin for shredding. We had agreed to 6 bins, but only agreed to pay for bins that were full. The pick up person had our firm owner sign something on a screen, did not provide her with a copy of what she signed. When she asked what she was signing, he could not tell her. The screen was too small to see what she was signing. We requested a copy of what she signed and they failed to provide that to us. The driver only picked up one full bin and left 5 bins because he said his truck was full. This is not our problem. He also said 6 more bins were supposed to be dropped off and that is why his truck was full. We did not request 6 more bins. This is their error. We made it very clear that 7/31/25 was the day our lease for the office was ending and had made that clear since the beginning of our interactions. We do not have access to the office after today and are unable to store anything there. They told us they couldn't pick up the additional bins, which is due to their own errors, until next Thursday 8/7 when we will no longer be in that office. We let them know that if they are unable to pick them up today, we have no choice but to leave them in the parking garage in an unsecured location as they failed to meet the terms of our agreement. We only agree to pay for 1 bin. If we are charged for additional bins, we will dispute those charges. The sales team **********************, including a "manager", ********.*********** completely stopped responding to emails after messing up the order. That is very unprofessional. We have no idea what we are going to be charged. We have no idea what our firm owner was forced to sign in order to have the bin picked up. I have called customer service multiple times. There is no accountability for this company and they are withholding signed documents without letting us know what was signed.

      On April 21st we called Stericycle and they notified us that we had a service on April 11th. However on April 11th nothing was picked up even though we had medical waste to be collected. A week later they confirmed that we would receive a no charge make up service to make up for the missed service. After a month of emailing and numerous calls (where my staff was redirected and put on hold for too long), they finally scheduled the make up service, but no one came on that date. We again emailed and called numerous times and now we are almost in August (4 months later) and they still have not provided a make up service date. They say they are still "working on it."

      We have used Shred-It twice since I started in 2020, once in 2021 and again in 2024. Shred-It is stating that we used them twice in 2020 within a month of each other. They send you a ************* Agreement via Docusign which I have on dated 6/22/2021. The provided the service on 6/30/2021. On 6/27/2024, I received our 2nd Agreement and provided service on 7/16/2024. On 9/12/2024, I received an email with two invoices attached. They said that we received a 2nd service on 8/4/2021. We do not produce enough paper recycling to have them come out twice within a month of each other. I asked for a Service Agreement, showing that we agreed for a 2nd Service for that date but as of today, still have not received one. For our service in 2024, we paid by check and they also took funds out via the credit card we had on file. I informed them of this double payment but they keep saying that we owe them for the 2nd service in 2021.

      The company called and offered service but would not provide a time, they provided a window and I mentioned that I work I will not be able make that time.I cancelled. The company showed up at my home anyway, I was not home. They left. They charged my credit card for a service they never provided.I called the company to resolve, however they would not. I also asked them for documentation that stated the pricing charges and they were unable to provide.This was a fraudulent charge and I would like to reimbursed.

      Company charged my credit card for $383.54 on April 1, 2025. Charged again on April 21 for same amount. I have been calling and am told they will 'open a ticket'. When I call back they 'open a ticket.' Today, April 30, they have no record. They have asked for proof from me twice that I was charged twice which I have sent twice. I keep getting emails that the issue is resolved. It is not resolved. I need the credit card credited. I have informed them that I do not authorize any additional charges to that card.       I had a scheduled pick up for boxes on 04/09/2025. The company showed up to pick up the boxes and they were not ready, I asked about rescheduling and the driver told me that I can reschedule AND that there would be no charge for this pick up.. He volunteered the information about cost, I did not specifically ask this. When I received the invoice, I immediately contacted customer service and they "opened a ticket for the local office". I received word back from them: "Dear S*****,Unfortunately upon validating the charge with the local branch the charge is valid :" Our policy is if they confirm a service date and we show up and there not ready (for whatever reason) they will be charged the minimum charge, I Will reschedule them for next week on the 23rd. ". This is despite the multiple times that I made them aware of the verbal agreement and immediately rescheduled the appointment. I was contacted by my account representative for rescheduling and responded to his email asking for him to further review the concern and the verbal promise made by the employee of the company. I have received no response from him. I sent him an email 04/15/2025 at 1:23 PM. There is still no response or resolution to the contrary information promised by the company.

      On March 12, 2025 I spoke with ******** ***** with Shred It to arrange for a one time shred it visit for the law firm of *******, Browning, ***************** in ******, **. Customer #********** and invoice #**********. We went over the details and he quoted me $329.62 for 110 boxes with 10 of the boxes being free. My employer agreed and Shred It came out to pick up the boxes. We get an invoice for $2,340.30! Nowhere near the price we were quoted. I emailed both the proposal and the invoice to ******** requesting some explanation regarding the price difference. ******** provided a response claiming he went over additional fees with me. He did not. We would not have had them come out for $2,340.30. We were also supposed to have received a 25% discount which I confirmed with ********, however nowhere on the invoice does it show the discount. ******** claims its in there however. He was very unapologetic and I'm sure he uses this bait and switch method quite often.

      We have had ongoing issues with Stericycle. They would come to my office after hours or on days when my business was closed. They would bill me despite having not provided a service. Because of there terrible customer service I wanted to opt out of my contract. They were extremely difficult to work with and would not let me out of the contract nor would they offer any type of resolution to my problems. Ultimately, after filing a review with the BBB, they did allow me to break my contract. I paid my remaining balance (which in my estimation was about double what was accurate), but I was just happy to not have to deal with them anymore. My contract ended on January 28th. Since, January 28th, They have debited my account around $800 in total. I attempted to allow them to correct the mistake, but they are unwilling to do anything about it. This is the absolute worst customer service I have ever received with anything and it just doesn't stop. almost two months after my contract with them was terminated, they have debited money from account on multiple occasions.

      We have used shred it for yearS. Probably 8 years. Back in September/Oct 2024 they just stopped coming. I called and emailed and called and emailed some more. They gave me a ref #. Nothing happened. Called again and they said our account was deleted accidentally? ALL our bins had been full for 2 months. They decided to show up on Jan 20, 2025 ( a Holiday-MLK Day) and we were closed. They charged us $136.39 for doing nothing. The only reason they even showed in January was b/c I had to call them. They said I received an email on Jan 14th saying they would be coming. I did not. They may have sent it but I sure didnt get it. I asked that the invoice be removed from my account and they refused and said I needed to call their office if we were going to to be closed. Terrible customer service after they just stopped coming for months and I had contact them repeatedly. Very Disappointing!
