  On November 13, 2024, and November 25, 2024, Better Business Bureau contacted Smith Roofing concerning advertising claims found on its websites, https://www.smithroofingid.com/ and https://www.smithroofs.com/. Specifically, BBB asked Smith Roofing to substantiate or modify the following claims:

   

  • “20+ years of experience”
  • “HAAG Certified”
  • “We are a licensed, bonded, and insured team of roofing contractors in the states of Idaho and Wyoming.”
  • “our team of certified professionals”
  • “10+ Certifications”
  • “10-Year Warranty on Labor & Lifetime Warranty on Materials!”
  • “100% customer satisfaction”

   

  Advertisements should be truthful, sincere offers to sell. Advertisers have a responsibility to have substantiation for all claims made and should be able to provide that substantiation upon request.

   

  When using “warranty” or similar representations in advertising, advertisers must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty can be seen prior to the sale.

   

  Advertisers should only use “satisfaction guarantee” or similar representations in advertising if the seller refunds the full purchase price of the product or service at the consumer’s request. Any material limitations or conditions that apply must be clearly disclosed.
