      I hired the Idaho Falls Plumbing Company to repair a broken PVC water line in my yard. When ***** estimated the job he guessed that the pipe was 1 but did not want to go into the hole to measure it. When the crew came on September 8, **02 to repair it, they discovered that the pipe was 1 1/4 and not 1 as ***** had guessed. They ended up having to leave the job twice to get the correct size pipe and then additional parts. I have attached PDF documents showing the invoice #**-2601 which is a typed version of what ***** wrote, clearing showing the 1 pipe, and a scan of the invoice #**** provided by the workers showing "additional 1 hr, line was 1 1/4 not 1" clearly indicating that that was the reason for the additional 1 hour.The lost time was a direct result of their errors, first the wrong size pipe, then not enough parts in their van, and I should not have to pay for their mistakes.I wrote the company two letters, first on September 13th, then on October 13th. Since they chose to completely disregard my letters, never replying or calling, I am filing this complaint to include the full 1 hour as identified by those that actually did the work. Also, as shown on this invoice I was charged $300 for that time, and that is the amount of the refund I am now seeking.

      I hired this company a while back and was not impressed. The guys were nice enough but I'm sure that was a ploy to get you to trust them. I had a backup in my basement and that is where the main drain is located. They tried for hours to unclog this drain to no avail. They said they would be back the following day, which they were. The same nice gentleman said he was talking to some of his co-workers and they told him to go through the downstairs toilet to unclog the drain. Low and behold, about 15 minutes later, my backup was fixed. I'm not complaining about the work, but the time they wasted and the cost being astronomical, is the reason for the bad review. Because the plumber spent so much time the day before, snaking the wrong location, I was charged $1000.00. Yes, that's one thousand dollars. It could have taken 15 minutes had the plumber known what he was doing. We called the company to tell them that they more or less robbed us and, rather than return some of the money, they said they would give us a discount if we hired them to replace the lines to the septic. FAT CHANCE!!! Given their pricing, I'm thinking that they would charge us the normal price with the discount added and then subtracted. All in all, I think they are dishonest and shady, much like most of the plumbers nowadays. Too bad we couldn't go back to a time when people were honest and there to help people.
