I am filing this complaint on behalf of my elderly mother who hired this company in the fall of ************************* shower for her. Over the past few months, my mother has paid them $9000 and to date the job is not finished and there are several new damages done to her home that have not been repaired. The new shower is leaking into the basement, causing damage to the roof and wood floor in the basement, the walls have had holes in them that have not been fully repaired, and the shower itself is unusable because it does not have grab bars in it, has huge gaps in between panels, and according to the inspection we just had it is not even affixed to the wall. My mother has tried to arrange for the owner and his staff to finish the job and repair these things on several occasions and has been lied to often, being told they would "be out tomorrow, next week", etc and then never show or even call. The last time she called to tell them there was a puddle of water in the basement the owner said he would be out to fix it. That was over two weeks ago. We are still waiting and the basement is still flooding. Now when she tries to call, his phone goes to voicemail and the voicemail box is full. Today, we decided we could wait no longer because of the severity of the flooding in the basement and contacted another plumber to do a full inspection. The walk in shower install failed inspection. The damages are extensive and repairs will be expensive. We have pictures and documentation from the inspector today to back this claim. We have no faith or confidence in All Valley Caldwell Plumbing to rectify any of these problems because all they have done is create more problems and then leave a mess for my elderly mother after taking her money.Business response

To whom it may concern,
We are trying our best to rectify the situation, and have made numerous attempts to contact ***************** without answer. Also, our insurance agent has also tried to get into contact with her to no avail. Wed like to resolve this issue as quickly as possible, but without cooperation from the homeowner this task has become incredibly difficult. In order for to proceed with any repairs or payments we need ***************** to answer our calls, or our insurance agents calls. Without her cooperation we have no real way of fixing the issue.

I am rejecting this response because:My mother has responded to ***'s four phone calls (2/1, 2/2, 2/3) via a text message on Saturday, February 3 in which she told him she had been advised to communicate only via written form for documentation purposes and that she would email him later that day which she did. She received a text back from *** that "he understood" and that he was wanting to come "and pay her". In her email she specifically told *** three things that needed to be done in order to move forward. 1) Full refund, 2) License and Insurance information needed to be provided from him in order to proceed with additional repairs, 3) Emergency repairs had to be done and a new company had been hired to complete repairs. ***'s services were no longer needed. On Monday afternoon, February 5th, ***** from Three Rivers ********************* called her and left a message regarding damages to her home. Again, this was just a voicemail, not in writting via email as requested. *** has never provided his license or insurance information so we are not even sure if this is a legitimate insurance agent. It will take time and inspections from a third party inspector to determine the extent of all damages, but to start this process we need *** to comply with our three requests detailed in our original email.

All Valley Caldwell Plumbing has been willing to reconcile with ****************, and her daughter since the last text message on Feb 3rd. We wanted to wait until the damaged was accessed by our insurance before we gave anymore information.We filed a claim with our Insurance, but due to the difficulties getting a hold of **************** and her daughter it was not processed as fast as we, or **************** would have liked. Now, our insurance agency has been dealing with staffing difficulties, and will be getting a hold of **************** as soon as possible. We understand why she is very unhappy. We are willing to repay **************** an amount of $5,188.51 in installments. We cannot return the shower as it is a special order item, and came at a significant cost of $3,071.49. Also the amount for the 2 toilets, 1 lav, and 1 faucet came at a total cost of $740.00 not $600.00 as stated by ******************** daughter. We have the original bid and invoices for all material that was used on ******************** residence. If she would like to continue correspondence with All Valley Caldwell Plumbing she has had our email from the beginning of the agreement.

I would like to keep this complaint open until we see if *** from All Valley Caldwell Plumbing follows thru with his offer to pay my mother $5,188.51 as well as cooperates fully with the insurance company to repair the damages to my mother's home. I would like to pursue this further in court, but my mother would like to accept the offer and be done with it. I am skeptical *** will actually follow through and pay her the money, but we will give him the opportunity to do so. Can we keep this complaint, and once he pays the money I will let you know it has been resolved? Likewise, if he does not pay, I will also let you know?Initial Complaint

On July 29, 2021, I invested a substantial amount of money for an on-demand tankless water heater. During the installation I was informed that a salt free water softener would help with the life of the tankless water heater, so I agreed to have it installed. The next day after installation, the on-demand hot water didn't work. I called *** and sever weeks later he stopped over to check it, said all was good. Later that day I tried it but it still took over 2 minutes to get hot water. He aIso told me he had an extra filter for the water softener and he would stop over in about 3 months to change it and to show me how to do it. After 3 months I made numerous calls and texts to him. I have not yet seen him after a dozen texts/calls and it is now July 2022. A year later I still do not have on-demand water. I had to order a filter ($75 per filter) and call another plumber to come out and help me with the water softener. While he was here I asked him to check the water heater and he found I have not had on-demand because the recirculating pump does not work, when they installed it they never set up the recirculating pump correctly and the pump has gone bad and/or is completely burnt out. I had to pay another plumber (who came out in a very timely manner) to figure this out when this should have been addressed back in July of 2021. I called the Manufacturer who said I need a plumber to call them while on-site to troubleshoot before they can send any replacement parts. Another cost to have the plumber come out to do this troubleshooting. Also the salt free water softener that I paid $1200 for the unit/installation does not in fact soften water even though the manufacturer is marketing it as a water softener, the citric acid has been found to start pitting and/or corrode the pipes. I want a refund on this water softener unit and the charges for the new plumber.Business response

Yes, ****** did call after tankless water heater and softener was installed. Went back and took care of it as she states checked it and "It was all good" when I left.
****** called me back months later and told me that her neighbor had come over to check on her water softener and somehow broke something on the water softener and had wet her carpet.
Do to this incident All Valley Caldwell Plumbing LLC warranty has been voided and is not liable or responsible for any damages her neighbor may have caused.

I am rejecting this response because:All Valley Caldwell Plumbing told me they would bring a new filter and replace the old filter before they left installing the tankless water heater and NuvoH2o system. I made numerous calls and texts for a year to have schedule them to come replace the filter but no show. I had to pay another plumber to not only come and bypass the NuvoH20 system but to also troubleshoot and correct the tankless water heater. I will absorb the costs for the 'on demand' but feel it not only fair that All Valley Caldwell Plumbing buy back the NuvoH2O system since they sell and install them. This is reasonable since I have had to absorb the bulk of the repair costs.

We are not willing to buy back water heater as she stated to us that
her neighbor worked on it causing it to flood.

I am rejecting this response because:My prior request was that All Valley Caldwell Plumbing please buy back the Nuvoh2o water softener NOT the water heater. They can even have the unused brand new filter. I paid another plumbing company to disconnect the system and this is a reasonable request since I had to absorb the bulk of the repair costs.

The request was never to buy back the water heater. It was asking you to buy back the water softener, not understanding how it could be void. However if it has to do with the amount of time, it's unfortunate that this complaint was submitted back in July 11, 2022 and it took 6 months before you responded January 2023.
