I financed a vehicle which included a $1000 fee for extended car warranty. The cars clutch went out before the 1 year warranty ended. I went to get the car fixed and tried to use extended warranty. But the insurer for the extended warranty was not paid for my vehicle. They breached contract. And the full amount of the clutch was my problem, even though I paid for "extended warranty" capital auto sold me, but capital auto did not pay for the "extended warranty. My credit has been dinged by this.

After a thorough review of our records, we have found no record of this individual as a customer, nor any transactions associated with their name, phone number, or any vehicle purchase.  It appears that this complaint may have been intended for Capital Auto Loan, a separate and unrelated business with a similar name. We request that this complaint be redirected to the correct business entity and that it be removed from our BBB profile, as it does not pertain to our company.

Please let us know if any further clarification is needed. We appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.

Did I mistakenly not put Capital City auto? I can not see my original complaint. I "bought" car and signed documents at Capital City auto, they probably did finance me else where. But the contract I signed was with and at capital City auto.

We have no record of this customer, Manual *****. The screenshot showing a ****** search for Capital City Auto holds no weight as evidence. If you could provide a VIN number, I would be happy to double-check. Additionally, we do not finance warranties, so we recommend directing your complaint to the appropriate company (Capital Auto Loan).

On 8/24/2024 I went into capital city auto looking for a new vehicle. I ended up trading my old ***** accord for $3,000 and putting a $1,000 down of my own cash into a down payment for the car. Vehicle is a 2020 dodge charger v6, with ******+ miles on it at the time. The first month of owning it there were already some overheating issues with the car, causing me to spend over another $1,000 to repair it and after only owning it for a little over 4 months. I have now payed over $3,000 to get it repaired and now need another $5,000 for more. The certified mechanic that I have taken it to, claimes that they put sealant in the engine to prevent it from showing the overheating issues for a couple months. I have called the dealership asking for help, or what to do, only for them to not return my calls and or not even answer me. I have had to reach out to the loan lenders (****) and they have been made aware of the issues and the ****** dealing practices that they showed and are working on a report as well to prevent any possible workings with them in the future. I have reached out to the mechanic and they are willing to give a report as well if needed. I just want them to take the car back and get it out of my life. I cannot afford to keep this car anymore after paying for the costly repairs that have occurred in the 4+ months that I've had it. Even if they paid the 18k for the car and not the loan I will take it and pay the rest off if needed to ****.

This vehicle was sold AS-IS by the dealership.  The customer did purchase a 3rd party service contract that he could be using for any repairs that come up.  As for us adding any kind of additive, that is false and pure speculation.  We have an off site service center that goes through each vehicle. I have not heard from this customer until now.  If he needs any help with his service contract to cover repairs he is free to call me on my cell ************.  As for the vehicle, that is his vehicle and there is no return policy.  Again I would be happy to help if he needs to make a claim on his service contract. If documentation is needed I can upload.

    Thanks,

    Tom

On 7/30/24 my husband and I test drove a vehicle. I was still undecided on if this was the one I wanted and the sales associate, ******, told us another couple was interested and would be back in the morning to buy it if it hadnt sold. He told us if we put a deposit down they would hold the vehicle while they ran our credit and see if we could qualify. He said if we changed our minds, we couldnt get financing, or if things werent going to work out because it wasnt going to fit our needs they would completely refund our money no problems. He asked my husband to sign a deposit slip and we paid him $200. We did not get a copy of the paperwork. The next day we finally got a call late afternoon to let us know there was good and bad news. We were approved for financing but with a large $4000 down payment. We expressed we couldnt afford it and requested our deposit. He said they could hold it and keep looking for something that would fit our budget better, which we accepted. The next day we called to ask for our deposit to move on to other things and were told no, that we signed the paper so thats on us I reiterated what was told to us and the ****** blamed it on me saying I was remembering the situation wrong. I told him it was unethical and I would write a bad review which he then threatened me saying they would charge me with slander even though its my opinion and right to voice my thoughts. He continued to argue with me on the phone. We have not heard anything since. My husband tried reaching out to see if they changed their minds and never got a response.

On July 27th, the customer visited and proceeded with purchasing a 2012 *** X3. They were given paperwork outlining the down payment and monthly payments. After reviewing the details, they made a $200 deposit and agreed to return the following day to complete the purchase and finalize the paperwork. We agreed to remove the vehicle from the market and hold it for them. However, after 5-7 days, the customer decided to back out, so we relisted the vehicle for sale.
It is very clear that the deposit is non-refundable, as indicated by a large sign and a signed form. However, we offer store credit instead. See the attached document for details.

I am rejecting this response because: Well they again have proved to be liars. As you can see from the attached documents, we went to multiple dealerships on July 25th, NOT the 27th. We were NEVER provided any paperwork to take home. And the sign they claim to have had hanging was not there on the 25th. It looks like they jusyt recently hung it. As per my provided documents you can also clearly see we called the next day, July 26th to see if we had been approved for financing. We were told then about the down payment, which we told them we couldn't afford so we would have to  look at different options that would be cheaper. At that time they said they could hold the deposit and keep looking for the vehicle we wanted. We agreed, but when we never heard anything back we called on July 29th to request our deposit, that we were told at the beginning we could get back if we decided not to pursue the vehicle. We kept getting the run around saying they would look into it and call us back but no one ever did. Finally on August 2nd we called one last time to request our deposit again, then told we would get a call back after he "looked to see what he could do" . We didn't receive a call just a text stating they were unable to return our deposit. They continuously lie to us and other clients that we reached out too. All we are asking us for our original deposit back.

    Sincerely,

This customer did come in on 10/28/2023 and purchase a Jeep Renegade from Capital City Auto.  He also traded in a 2010 Jeep Patriot. We do not offer "Warranties".  We do offer extended service contracts which the customer opted out of.  Everything was explained fully to the customer.  We have full 4k video footage of the sale. I believe ************** is confused.  The Cal-Tex/Resistall is a permanently applied product to the vehicle and that cannot be removed. It states on the contract: "THIS GUARANTEE IS A PRODUCT GUARANTEE AND IS NOT INSURANCE" and states: "This protection product guarantee is NON-CANCELLABLE and NON-REFUNDABLE".  We explained to ************** that this product has been applied to the vehicle and cannot be removed.  He did agree and did sign all the paperwork to move forward with the purchase.  As far as the vehicle being a clean title, it is a clean title.  Mr. **********;extensively reviewed the Carfax before the purchase.  This is not something we have a legal obligation to do but, we still provide it to our customers and pay the fees.

We have had to block ************** phone calls and asked him to leave the property multiple times due to out burst by ***************  We are always willing to help our customers out to a point.  One thing we will not put up with is someone coming into our place of business and cursing at employees / having a tantrum.

I have attached the followiing:  Purchase order (Personal items redacted), Copy of signed statement that ************** did indeed go over the Carfax, Statement from the Cal-tex/Resistall contract showing it is non-cancellable and non-refundable, and lastly a printout from our website that clearly states additional fees that *** be part of the purchase of a vehicle.

We will not be issuing any type of refund to ************** and would like to remind him that continuing harassing of the business could result in legal action.

I guess its my word against thiers I went back in and told them I did not ask for this warranty, that they had told me it came with the purchase, I did not ask to purchase the warranty, they tried to take advantage by slipping it into the contact  they never went over the car fax with me I requested it after I made the purchase.I didnt not curse at them  the salesman was the one the one that aquited me of calling him a liar at that time all I said was thats ********, that I was going to contact a lawyer at that time I was told to leave, I texted them back letting them know they promised me a share tire and **** that it was in the contract, they said they had 30days , they called me that it was in , I returned to the dealership got what they promised, I apologized to the salesman , he understood why I got upset it was a large purchase, we shook hands a few days later I talked to CALTEX about canceling the warranty, they told me I needed to talk to the dealership about a refund , I tried to contact the dealership to see if there was anyway they could help me they would not ask my call , I left a message at no time was I rude when I called , if I could afford an attorney I would get one, because they are lying , I believe that is call perjury , but like I said its thier word against mine, Im not getting any help on this but i now just want to make sure no one else gets taken advantage by this dealership, because that what they did , thank you for trying to help me BBB
