1 starI have held my life policy and trio illness rider for labeled as: ADBE Term Trio Terminal Illness *** 1, ADBE Term Trio Chronic Illness *** 1, ADBE Term Trio Critical Illness *** 1 The Chronic illness rider requires permanent disability and North American denies claims based on your condition to have "Substantial Assistance" in the denial letter. In their denial letter the company on states this and does explain what the term "Substantial Assistance" means and when asking the customer service and a supervisor, they then tell you that you should be completely reliant on a care person. The chronic illness rider should be labeled as "Disability Rider". This company has no compassion nor do they label their Chronic Illness rider correctly giving the person buying the policy a misnomer about the rider. This company does not seem to have sympathy or empathy. When I reduced my face value, they could not explain my premium paid for changing to a lower face value will be refunded to me or not.North American Company for Life and Health Insurance

1 starThis is the worst company I have ever had to deal with! I seem to have to call every time North American Insurance Company sends me a note. When I left my phone number to call back it took 2 days. But since I was not available (working) when called back it took over 40 minutes to get through. It appears North American doesn't really want to speak with customers or receive any feedback from customers. It was extremely difficult to find the right department or reach a supervisor/higher-level person. Even now, I am having to wait again to speak with a representative, (so far I have been waiting for 26 minutes).My current issue is that I requested an "illustration" on 2-3-25 and was told it would take 3-5 days. At day ten I called, and she reported it had been sent to the appropriate department, and I should be receiving it shortly. Today is 30 days and still no illustration. When I called again they have no excuse and refused to overnight the package to me. They wanted me to receive a "fax" which most people don't use anymore or I could pay for the overnight delivery. I had to pay $140 to order and receive the illustration and yet 30 days later I still do not have ***** policy renewal date is coming this month. I surely thought 45 days was enough advanced notice. Where is your customer service department; it appears ********************************************* doesn't care about customer satisfaction.Review fromConnie T

1 starI called the North American Insurance Company (customer service number) and I left my cell number to call back. A representative named ****** or ***** called back and was very, very rude. I had two questions: 1. Will my semi-annual payment that I paid on 11/26/24 (payment due on Jan 3, 2025) be posted on the due date as it doesn't show at the moment that my payment that I made on 11/26/24 has been posted against the payment due 1/3/25. He's reply was it may not show online until February 2025. Yet..they have already deducted the amount from my bank account. 2. When I look at my policy online, which is a "Classic First to Die" policy it doesn't have my husband's name anywhere on the policy, so what would happen if I died first? Would he be able to collect or even if he died first, would I be able to collect?..His reply was "That's what "First to Die" means. We got this policy many, many years ago and have NEVER missed a premium payment. I would HIGHLY suggest that you never, ever buy an insurance policy from ***** if they have **** like the one that so called "helped" me. Whatever happened to customer service? I noticed they are rated 1.24 stars out of 5, so I am not the only one who thinks they don't give a you know what about their policy holders.North American Company for Life and Health Insurance

1 starI set up an annuity with North American as a Power-of-Attorney(POA) for my 89+ year old mother who has dementia and very limited computer skills For the first year I was allowed access to obtain annuity balance online I have never nor will ever ask for a change/distribution from the annuity until maturity (3 years) After approximately 1 year into the annuity ...I was denied online access to the account balance ?? Security denied a POA ?? My mother does not even know what an annuity is My financial advisor (Principal Financial) not even allowed to link this account to my mother's overall ************* financial page I have access/complete control with all other of my mother's bank accounts/investment accounts/credit cards/Medicare/health and medical accounts/RE taxes/utilities/tax returns .....and North American is the ONLY company that denies me Power-of-Attorney rights to access and/or link account ?? This is not account security ...this is 100% poor customer service/management !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!North American Company for Life and Health Insurance

However, website access is not available on all contracts administered by the Company and our current website security protocols do not allow individuals to create accounts as a Power-of-Attorney ("POA") or Attorney-in-Fact ("AIF"). While we would like to offer website access to all our customers, we simply do not have the functionality at current but do hope to offer this functionality in the future. 1 starThey lost my government allotment for over two years had to get records to prove I paid it and it took almost 6 months to get resolved and then my premium payments were going somewhere but not to my policy, and they were going to lapse my policy and i had to prove that. customer service ***** they always have to give it to someone else to work on and can't answer any question. 1 starI have a company Northern American insurance for three year every month $500 pay but now I am surrender for every paperwork ID for five months. I surrender charge five months like May 1 and they dont call. Dont send me on nothing and Augusta I called them and they say I need to do the paperwork so I did the Internet done didnt matter so I have to find the paperwork and I send it. I got every request. I got everything done like they say then whole months I still waiting I didnt have a check so I contact them, they say they send the last month so its supposed to two weeks later. They gotta send me a chair for two weeks one months. I didnt got when I contact them. They say they sent me a check. I have a junk mail in my mailbox, but I dont have a northern insurance check I ask where is the receipt? Where is the number? Where is the number I ask? I didnt say anything and they will send me a check again but they say they will have a check back how they can have a check back which dont come here whole month how they have a day they gonna have a chat whatever the reason I have to have my check back. I worked so hard to make this money to put it in, and I surrender I lose a lot of money and I have a little money I have a full size and I really need this money and please dont play the game with me this must I try and not send it. I wait five months. I cannot wait six months. I have to contact the lawyer and I will ask a big money for sure. This is a play game is a solo. 1 starI requested withdrawal funds due to an emergency. NALI still uses paperchecks, sent by mail and advises it may take up to 10business days. No overnight service even if you pay for it. I requested two separate checks. Neither has arrived two weeks later. When calling to follow up the update varies depending on who you speak to. 1 starI am extremely disappointed and upset with North American Annuity Company. I have 2 annuities with them. On January 22nd, 2024 , with my agent, on a 3 way phone call, we spoke to C****** and asked to change the date that I receive one of my deposits, as it wasn't working for my budget. Once that was settled, she said that I had almost $5000 that was available to me from that account. My agent and I both asked questions about it and it was made to sound as though it was just extra money laying there. Well, who wouldn't want it? I had a lot of home repairs I needed to make. My agent and I both asked several times if it would affect my income amount. She said no, but that I couldn't take it out until the anniversary date in March. On April 5th, 2024, my agent and I again called North American and spoke to B****. We again were told that this money was available and that it would not affect the income from that account. We were also told that the smaller annuity had $1400 available to me, and that again the income from the account would not be affected. WRONG. That income from the smaller account has gone from $234 to $107. I called, spoke J***** who explained that annuities didn't work like that, that I have a certain amount every year that is made in 12 payments, and that the 1400 I received was like an advance from that year's income. When I said NO ONE told us that, and that I NEVER would have taken that money had I known, and that 2 different employees, at 2 different times told us the opposite, he said he would send my complaint to the ************ ***** When S****** called, she was so understanding and apologetic when she told me my bigger account would, in September be reduced from 575 to 163! So until April '25 my income will be reduced from 809 to approx 270! Those 2 women either outright lied to us, or were too incompetent to be in a position that can devastate peoples' lives! It will be so difficult to manage for those months, and I'm angry.North American Company for Life and Health Insurance
