1 starTheir customer service or lack there of is an absolute joke. Their employees are illiterate to the point they cannot even match numbers. When they make a mistake they don’t offer anything to make it better. In fact they act like it is your fault and that the customer is the inconvenience. The best they offered was to deliver the product I did order (which is in stock) in a month. A MONTH! I had already spent 2.5 hours going to get what I ordered. And THEY loaded the wrong product. I asked for a nice discount if I was going to have to drive another 2.5 hours to get it resolved. I was told by Sholanda (a “manager”) that I will not be receiving anything for my troubles. This is not a Walmart. People don’t just spend 10 dollars here. However, I bet you Walmart would have handled this situation with grace and made it right because they understand the value of a return customer. I have been a repeat customer at Homemakers for years. At this point I will never be a customer of theirs again. I have put in calls to the supervisor Brett who has refused to return my calls. Obviously some excellent management skills all the way around. I put in a request asking to speak with the GM. I look forward to hearing from them. Hi, Jacklyn we’re sorry to hear about your experience, this is definitely not the Homemaker’s standard. It does appear that you were misloaded the incorrect chair and we certainly apologize for our mistake. It does appear that a gentleman did come in to get the correct one and compensation was given as well for the unfortunate mistake. I have forwarded your information to our Warehouse and Customer Service managers who will look further into this to make improvements. 1 starI have filed complaint about homemakers with bbb but never wss able to find it or any complaints for up to date complaints. I filed one 12/22 and one on 1/2023 unable to find i think bbb works for homemakers not public or customers that got ripped off by homemakersHomemakers Furniture

1 starSo sad to say this since we have loved home makers and have bought multiple items. We bought a couch set from them about a year ago as well as the extra coverage and our whole recliner broke and now that we connected them about replacement options they say they will do nothing to fix it. Why are we paying extra for protection then?Homemakers Furniture

5 starsPurchased new living room furniture last Thursday at store in Urbandale. Great selection, great service,and best prices I've seen anywhere! Delivered on Saturday at exact time I was quoted, with a 15 minute courtesy call as promised. No sitting around all day waiting.Homemakers Furniture

1 starWe purchased a $1500 chair that started falling apart 7 months after purchase it, they have sent two technicians out to the house and the 2nd technician said it was a poorly made chair and that he wasn’t able to fix it. Barb at homemakers now want to pick up the chair and try and fix at the store instead of just replacing the faulty chair.. This has been a 2 month process trying to use our chair.. looks like another months to see if it can be fixed. Barb was not sympathetic at all in fact she made it as though I was inconveniencing her.. Unreal.. we are done shopping at homemakers and they won’t even care.. disgusting serviceHomemakers Furniture

Lazyboy chair was purchased 11/27/2021. We were notified 8/16/2022 that chair seemed to be leaning to one side. Technician was out 8/27/2022, part/complete seat was ordered. Seat arrived and was installed 9/24/2022. Technician reported chair was repaired and up to manufacture standard. Customer did not agree and wanted second opinion. Second technician out 10/1/2022 reported not seeing anything out of standard and would need to be brought in our upholstery shop to open up for further inspection. Customer was unsatisfied with this and talked with one of our supervisors and understood that we do need to bring it inshop to open it up and see what is needed and we would go from there with the manufacture on next steps if not fixable.Review fromScott S

5 starsWas surprised to find the same item that locally was significantly more expensive and Homemakers had free delivery. Order went smooth, delivery happened quicker than i expected, product arrived in good condition. Would buy again!Homemakers Furniture

2 starsTurns out Homemakers are just like any other furniture store (one step above being a used car dealership). Ordered master bedroom furniture set in **** on their website, during which time they have you choose a delivery date. Shipping was free. For us the earliest date was the end of August. There were two pieces that would not be available until October/November, which would be shipped at that time. So here it is, a few days from delivery, and I had not heard anything yet. I emailed the company, and received a call back that all but two pieces are all set for delivery, but they won't deliver until all pieces are received together. However, if I wanted to I could pay $$$ to have those items shipped now. This is NOT what the website said you to believe when I made the purchase, and it allowed me to schedule the delivery with no warning or notification or anything, and I explained as much. The person calling was nice enough, said they understood my frustration, but are not authorized to make any changes, and instead just kept talking in a circle with no attempt to really resolve anything other than cancelling the entire order. I had really hoped Homemakers was going to turn out different, but no, they are just another bait and switch furniture company. Yep, I got suckered into ordering, now they sit there with thousands of my dollars while we are still living off the floor in our apartment. You see, the reason we needed bedroom furniture was that the house we lived in burned down and we lost everything. We literally spend our last bit of cash on this furniture. But no, we end up with nothing again, and more trauma to deal with. Can only hope the missing two items eventually come, and the furniture is delivered.Homemakers Furniture

3 starsNice selection, great hours, great loading dock, sales people aren't commissioned (I like that).The warranty they try to sell you with Guardsman... a joke. I have young kids, I told them that, they said something like, oh yeah, this covers everything. I could ask to read the fine print, but 1) I can't predict the future, and 2) I want to believe them. I spent 5k with them on a dark ***** leather Southern Motion powered sofa and loveseat, and a couple end tables. We get 4 years into the plan and my young kid sets a wet spoon on the couch , it dries, we pick it up, and the top surface of leather peels off leaving a light tan spot the size of a quarter right in the front seating area. Within 2 hours of it happening I call in and start a claim with Guardsman, oh sorry but that's not covered. Call homemakers customer service and explain hoping that they'd have my back, oh yeah that should be covered because like everything is covered (just like the sales people will tell you) A call or email back from them later, oh sorry I guess that's not covered.Don't buy their insurance, and think about what you do buy from them because that is not what I expected for support on a 5k furniture purchase. They've probably gotten 10k from us but I'm not sure I can spend anymore with them even though I love their selectionHomemakers Furniture

Update, I was contacted by the customer service team and to say I was pleasantly surprised by their response to my situation would be an understatement. They got my information and within a week had a delivery estimate on the cushion which turned out to be only about another week. Then they were ready to schedule service the following week. I want even ready that fast so I held them for the next available appointment which was only another week later.
This, is what I was expecting from homemakers and I'm happy that they resolved it so quickly after this post. I believe the insurance didn't cover them and they instead covered it but it's what I was expecting based on the sales team communication at the time of purchase.
I'm happy with the correction that was made and am willing to put this behind me because everything else about them including this is great, just the little bump in the road that got me here.
A side note, they did not ask me to reply to this note, they were just happy to help. This was prompted in my own accord due to the excellence I experienced during their follow up.
