WireOne is a scam Beware……Then over price everything, I was charged or around 9,000 just to fix a Double tap , after everything was completed I was also told I need to rewire the hole house costing up to 50,000.

After all the work was done I did so research on cost to fix a double taps, after taking to or electricians I was told I could have paid around 500 for the same work.

So as I was saying before never us this company unless you want to be overcharged

We work hard to provide a fair and honest price to keep this community safe.  the $500 cost you found on the internet does not take many aspects of our profession into account.  It is possible to hire "***** in a truck" but he will not be licensed, and your home will be at risk.  Please choose carefully and know we are here if you need us.

When I initially called WireOne, I was impressed with the appt. being scheduled quickly (Wed., Nov. 16), and the timeframe I was given by the receptionist for fixing the problem -- "usually same day". Of course, that didn't happen. The issue: we just all of a sudden only had electricity in half the house. The electrician arrived as scheduled and diagnosed the problem, presented me with repair/project options, and ordered supplies. No way was he fixing it "same day", I thought, and I was right. He said he'd return Mon., Nov. 21. There was an issue with supply delivery, but they were delivered, and the electrician returned the 21st. However, he left after 3 hrs., and said they'd return and finish the job the next day. The next day arrives, and I got a text asking if Nov. 30th would work to complete the job. Apparently, the wife of the employee scheduled to return had a baby overnight. I indicated my displeasure, even though I understood, and wondered to myself if there was only one electrician working there. I didn't want to call another electrician mid-job to finish what WireOne had started, so we were just in limbo until their return. They did return yesterday, Nov. 30 -- two weeks after the first appointment, and completed the job. However, they shut off the power late afternoon, and we were without heat or lights for two hours. It's winter in Iowa -- it gets cold and dark early. Plan accordingly. I asked for a discount based on the the delay of project completion -- two weeks versus 2 days -- and was told no. WireOne, I later discovered, increased the agreed upon deposit of $2000 to $2500, without prior knowledge. I wish I had done better research before hiring WireOne. They are inexperienced; have shady business practices; misrepresent themselves; and are grossly overpriced. I would never recommend WireOne.

Hello Ms. *********:  Thank you for reaching out to us through this trusted source.  We cannot defend ourselves in this case, as most of what you have shared is accurate.  We apologize you had this experience with us and we are confident it is NOT the norm, as you can see from our thousands of Google reviews.  That said, we are so sorry we let you down.  We did have staffing challenges during the time we were caring for you and the Technician's baby came a few weeks early.  As you remember, we had a challenge with your card and needed to approve the $2500 as a deposit in order to rent a trench digging machine.  There were numerous unique challenges as we helped make your home safe.  I hope we can make it up to you with our normal, and proper, professionalism.  We have been serving this community for many years and offer 100% satisfaction guaranteed.  Please contact me directly and we will do all we can to ensure you are satisfied.  Thank you.

I recently had a wall mounted radiant heater installed by Wire one for $1,100. dollars. I then learned the heater needed an adjustable therostat.. The 2nd technician explained to me that the job would cost an additional $867.00 to run the 220 wire and place a new large electrical box with a thermostat and I signed for the work to be done. After working on the job the 2nd electrician then stated he had made a mistake, and this a more simple job requiring less equipment. I never would have signed for the additional work if I had been informed all of this could been done the first time. A small electrical junction box was only needed and no 220 volt wire. The electrician did not have the thermostat and offered to go to Menards and get one, I stated I would go get a theromostat which i saw on line at menards for $21.00, I could have purchased a small electrical junction box for $2.92, but the electrician insisted on completing the job and went and purchased the supplies at Menards himself.
I called Wireone in Cedar Rapids and spoke with operations Mgr named Jayden and explained I was overcharged. Charges included Standard Service Fee with 3 Hour Arrival Window $69.00 plus another $39.00 plus Professional installation of a small junction as required by the National Electric Code. $279.99 plus $419.99 =$865.60 including tax for what should have been a 10 minute job. I paid on 10/24/2022 Credit Card $865.60
I talked with the Operations Mgr. (Jayden). I asked for consideration of a partial refund due to the fact the job was unecessary. Jayden declined. Jayden also declined to let me speak with his supervisor. When I asked for the owners name Jayden was rude and declined to give me that contact information, and stated if i escalated this it would not matter.
I later researched this and found the owners name is Jake Wheeler DesMoines owner of Wire One.
I look for an adjustment on this billing as i was overcharged and misled for the services!
