My boyfriend and I went car shopping at McGrath ********** of Dubuque. While sitting down with the salesman I was lied to multiple times and was very upset. I asked before he ran my credit check if it was going to be a hard-hit or a soft hit because I didnt want him to run it if it was going to be a hard hit because I just got my credit score to where I needed it to be to purchase some thing of my own. He lied ran my credit anyhow and I ended up getting a hard hit. Then when we went to go sign paperwork the finance man tried to get me to sign electronically on an iPad and while doing so he change the pricing of the total value of the vehicle our monthly payments and increased the interest rate. I luckily read things and caught this and made him change it but I felt like we were being scammed. Then we get a text message from McGrath ********** of Dubuque stating that they messed up the paperwork and due to timing of financing they are required to make the first full payment on our behalf and that we would make arrangements to then pay McGrath for that first payment. I kept getting text from the bank that we were financed through that we were past due so I reached out to McGrath and they lied to me again told me that we were not past due and that it would not affect my credit and I just spoke with the bank and they said that they just talked with McGrath and they told them something completely different so at this point I would like to return the vehicle and not be charged anything and just be done with them. We signed paperwork on March 31 and have yet to receive our license plates for the vehicle or our spare key. Right now we have a vehicle we cannot even legally drive because its not plated. I can go car shopping else where and not be stressed every day and toyed around with.
