I contacted **** in late April/ early May based on a recommendation from a job well done with a good friend. **** helped generate an estimate and completed the work on 5/15. We agreed on the price of $1200. I didn't receive an electronic invoice but wrote him a check with the details on the check. We first noticed an issue a week later that the concrete wasn't drying properly and that one side was longer than the other (creating an angled looked to what was supposed to be a rectangle). In the process, his crew managed to destroy our grass, but that wasn't a big deal. He advised me to wait for the concrete to dry.Three weeks went by and the concrete is a horrible yellow color, has pock marks all over from poor quality or mixing, is not textured the way we discussed, doesn't match the surrounding concrete, and pools water due to a poor grade.My wife reached out. She tried by text, email and phone call. He did not respond after 2 weeks. I then tried calling (his phone said it wasn't accepting calls), texting and emailing. Finally on July 9th, I get a response. He said his son was sick so he wasn't working. I'm a parent and can understand. I gave him a stretch of 7 days that I was available. He responded saying he could visit on a day that was not within that entrie stretch. I again asked for another day (we were going away for a bit). He never responded. I emailed again on June 21st, he didn't respond. I emailed on June 28th and he responded giving me a lengthy, unprofessional, and careless solution that basically said "not my fault, I can fix it because I'm a nice guy, but you'll have to pay me. Also good luck getting your payment back." I asked him what it would cost, he didn't respond. I asked him again the following day. No response I emailed August 4th. No response. I emailed August 10th. No response.3 months later and I'm done trying to get him to fix the problem. He doesn't stand behind his work and I will be pursuing retribution. Thank you.
