I bought a 2017 Jeep wrangler in April 2024. I have had nothing but problems with it. So much so that its in the shop for a 4th time for overheating again. This time its a head on the opposite side they just fixed and even though I have a 3rd party warranty they may night cover the cost to fix the head and I am in turn out $5000 that I do not have. They tried to take my jeep as a trade in but I don't have great credit. I stopped hearing from them I think in August 2024. When I bought this I told them I just wanted a reliable vehicle and they said they understood and it has been anything but reliable.Initial Complaint

On 11/13/24 I purchased a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ from Deery Brothers Chevrolet. Right from the start there were issues, I complained about the cracked windshield in which they stated the price reflected the damage, which I tried to get replaced but in the end accepted. On the date I came to pick the vehicle up as soon as I started it after it got out of service the check engine light was flashing. They pulled it in and found it had a cylinder misfire in which the replaced the spark plugs and wires and then stated they were not going to do anything else to the vehicle. After that was done, I noticed since the detailing that the touch screen radio no longer responded to touch in which they replied they would do nothing about. 11/18/24 I left a ****** review which they replied with no reasonable resolution to the problem. 11/23/24 vehicle was taken back to them under the 3 month 3000 mile powertrain warranty for transmission issue in which they replaced the transmission harness and did nothing to the transmission which needed a rebuild as well. 11/26/24 got the vehicle back and still doesn't shift properly. 12/07/24 called for service as check engine light is back on for transmission, throttle position and misfire. The are replacing 2 injectors under the 3 month 3000 mile powertrain warranty and said I should do all 8 , they would cover 2 and I would need to cover the other 6. Also promised a loaner vehicle in which the lied about so my wife and 2 year old had to get a shuttle home as they dropped the vehicle of while I'm at work. They stated they don't see a transmission code or throttle so wont do anything about it although it shows under the mychevrolet app linked directly to the trucks diagnostic system.Initial Complaint

I cosigned for a 2013 Acadia for $7100 on 7/22/2024, in addition we bought a $3,000 power train warranty though the finance ****** ****. On 7/31/24 the Acadia started to stutter we took it to the Deery dealership service center and on 8/2/24 ******** the service tech said there was metal shavings in the transmission and it needed replaced. On 8/5/24 we were told it was a pre exsisting condition and would not be covered. This was never disclosed during the sale!! The dealership has made no attempt to make this right. Basically saying you bought a bad car and a bad warranty on top of that. So now were out $10,100 with a *****% rate making this a $18,000 vehicle with no resolutionInitial Complaint

I traded in a vehicle to Deery Brothers and purchased a vehicle from them. After completing all the paperwork and leaving with the vehicle, Deery Brothers did not follow through on the promised items such as a full tank of gas, new windshield wipers, etc. This new to me vehicle ended up being a very expensive lemon and was unable to be driven just weeks after leaving the lot. Just a couple days after the sale, they started harassing my mother and I (both names on the title of the vehicle traded in) because they didnt give us two forms to fill out, acting as if we should know what paperwork needs to be done. I thought this was all resolved, until today when I received a certified letter from the ********** police department that the car I traded in was impounded and has been left in my name for over two years since trading it in to them. They sold this car almost immediately after I traded it in, but never bothered to do a proper title transfer or have the new owner register the car in her name. Thank goodness it was just an impound and not that this lady hit someone or something crazy, as my name is on the car and I would also be liable. When I called to speak to someone around 6:15 1/23/24 the man laughed at me for my concerns, refused to take the situation seriously and hung up on me. I am entirely disappointed in every aspect of this vehicle. I would love to return it and get my remaining loan eliminated and be refunded all the money I have spent on the payments and down payment on this vehicle.Business Response

********************** father, originally called in around 3:45pm and spoke to our Title Clerk. She took the information very seriously, collected the vehicles VIN number and the buyers information and proceeded to do some research. Discovering that Deery Brothers sold this vehicle to an out of state customer back in 2021. ********************************************* correctly processed an In Transit Title with ********************* removing Kassy from the current title and registration of this vehicle. The Title Clerk proceeded to call the *************** to confirm that ***** was no longer registered to this vehicle, in which they confirmed that is true and accurate information, and if they had any other recommendations in this situation. The county gave us a form that the buyer would have to sign to completely remove them from the vehicle history. The Title Clerk then called **** back explaining the situation to him and offered to help collect ****** signature on the form, send it in, and get the history removed. However, **** refused and stated that she would not be coming in to sign the form. ***** called back in at 6:15pm after the title clerk had left for the day. She got connected to a Finance Manager who was unaware of the original phone call. Another Finance Manager, who had been informed of the situation, gave her a call back the following morning, where he left ***** a voicemail explaining again and reassuring her that she is not currently registered to this vehicle in any way.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: Deery Brothers stated that that left me a voicemail explaining that I am not on the vehicle at all, but they DID NOT. They left a voicemail asking for a call back. Yes, the vehicle is NOW in my name after my father contacted Story County to resolve this and take me off the registration. I am extremely upset with whomever I spoke with on the phone yesterday as it is completely unprofessional to laugh at a customer in this serious of a situation and then to hang up on me. Due to the neglect of Deery Brothers in this entire deal I am not satisfied with this resolution. If Deery Brothers cannot offer an actual resolution I will continue to speak on my negative experience and will start posting this on social media.
Sincerely,

Deery Brothers fulfilled their obligation under the ************* Law to process the In Transit title to the new out of state owner at time of purchase. At that point we are now a third party and no longer have access to change anything with the County Treasurer. We went over the recommended options with ****. He did not seem satisfied with anything we had to say, therefore our final recommendation was for him to call the County Treasurer personally to address their policy and the process of removal. Based on your claim, sounds like your father (****) called Story County and the issue has been resolved.Initial Complaint

This vehicle completed a safety inspection through the shop in which there were no warning lights or messages on the dash. ******* was changed and the fuel filter was changed at the time of service the vehicle had ******* miles on it. If the DEF system was deleted it was not done through our shop and was acquired that way. Customer test drove vehicle again with no warning lights on dash or complaints of anything at the time of test drive and purchase. With a high mileage vehicle there are many things that could present as problems either within the electrical system or cooling systems as customer noted. Unfortunately customers don't always disclose the underlying issues when trading in a vehicle, especially with that high of mileage.Initial Complaint

On September 13th, 2023 I purchased a vehicle from them. I was assured the vehicle was safe to drive and had no issues other than needed a tire sensor replaced and an alignment. We test drove the vehicle, and the salesman said he did feel confident it was safe. (I have a 9 month old daughter that would be in the car frequently.) Safety was huge for me. The next day, the engine light came on and I noticed the steering wheel was extremely loose. I called & the salesman let me know know to call and make an appointment to bring it in. The next day, Friday, I took the car in and left it. Around 3:45 I was told by **** that it had a bad steering column, and it wouldn't be covered by the extended warranty because he inspected it and knew it was an issue before it was sold. This is something we were NEVER notified of. Saturday morning we went in to speak with a manager in person, since nobody would answer on Friday. The manager REFUSED to speak with us and I overheard him telling the salesman he "hopes these cars make it off the lot" and there was nothing to be done. It was our problem. They KNOWINGLY sold us a car with a serious and dangerous issue, and refuse to make it right let alone management will not speak with us. My next step is an attorney, and whoever else I need to contact to make it right. If they would have told us before, we either would have looked at another vehicle, or seen if it was worth it to fix. Never would I have put my BABY in the car, let alone drive it off the lot. We knew it was an as-is vehicle, and expected small things would need replaced. Never did we expect a "reputable" dealer to take advantage of us the way they did. I also truly believe our salesman knew nothing of the issue. He tried very hard to make things right, and management would not budge. It's Monday evening and we have yet to hear from anyone at Deery Brothers. Shame on them for not being able to be honest and putting innocent lives at risk. (See attachment for full complaint).Initial Complaint

I took my car into Deery on 6/29/23, advising that there was a frightening noise coming from the right tire when I turn and I was scared to drive it for my safety. After inspecting they stated it needed new shocks, they called my warranty company and charged it to them, Friday afternoon it was ready for pick up, employee **** called and stated mechanic took it on test drive and it checked out perfect. Upon picking up the car was making the noise louder than before. I called and spoke to manager **** the next business day after the holiday advising I was disappointed as I went there in January for an engine replacement and they did the same thing resulting in my car breaking down 30 min after picking it up. He kept saying are you done yet.. we have jobs too.. instead of correcting it and offering a loaner car to get my car back in to get looked at due to their mistake. This company is horrible, quick to scam anyone with a warranty so they can get quick money but does not care about customers safety when they pull off lot. After advising him that I cant keep dropping it and leaving it as i have one car he says well find a way to drop ya off and pick you up, I would like a rental car until my car is fixed the correct way. Also please evaluate how this service department is running. Worst customer service of my life.Business Response

******************* - 2013 ***** Equinox. That car has been repaired and picked up even prior to ** receiving the complaint form from her. The noise she was complaining about was a brake repair performed by someone else that wasn't done correctly. She picked her vehicle up and commented to my advisor how quiet and nice the vehicle sounded once we fixed what another person fixed.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: I had taken the car in and they put new shocks on through my warranty company, before I left the lot it was still making the noise. They took it back after I made another appt and said it was something with the brakes and they lived them up, three days later and we are back to the same noise it was making when I originally took it in. I just want it fixed, I have a warranty for a reason, its like since I have a warranty and they arent getting paid, they dont care to fix it right. These are suppose to be certified mechanics. How can I hear the noise but they cant.

Customer concern: C/S hears a noise from front of vehicle when turning....thinks its the struts...advise - technician was able to duplicate the customers concern, extended warranty covered repair or replacement of front struts. Customer was notified repairs were complete, called and said vehicle is making same noise and sounds like wheel is going to fall off. I attempted to schedule customer as soon as possible, she said she would drop it off on saturday and we could look at it on monday as she works from home on monday's and wouldn't need a car, i explained that we might be able to look at it saturday to determine noise but for sure would be Monday. She dropped it saturday and explained to advisor that I said she could have a loaner, which we obliged. Test drove and determined noise was coming when applying brakes which she never informed us of. On Monday took wheel off and inspected brakes and determined that some other than my shop had recently done a brake job and the slide pins were seized and making the noise when depressing the brake pedal. We lubed the slide pins and all components of front brake job (performed by her husband is what advisor was told) test drove vehicle several times and heard no noise.
Thank you

I am rejecting this response because its not only making noise when applying brake it's when I hit a bump etc. we ruled out struts since those have been replaced,
it has to be something in my suspension. I just wish it would get figured out instead of getting the run around, I like supporting locally and just want my car fixed and not have to take it in five different times to figure it out.

I bought a used 2016 Dodge caravan for my daughter in 11/22 at Deery Brothers. I also got the warranty. A few weeks later the door didn't work properly. They looked at it cleaned the door charged ****** and said they don't work on Dodges, but got the door working. Now Feb. 2023 she is having trouble with transmission or something. We took it to a mechanic. They said that the warranty has to be used at the dealership. When we called the warranty they said yes the dealership had put on a 75 mile stipulation that within 75 miles it had to go there. The problem is they have had the car approximately since February 24/2023 and still have it now. 2 weeks after receiving it we are told we don't work on dodges. They took it to Deery Brothers Jeep Dodge in ******, **. They told ** not to call them. We was quoted a price that the warranty was not going to pay. My daughter left a message to have it fixed. She called a week later to make sure they got the message to fix it and he said no, but then asked I didn't know you wanted both parts fixed. So she told them yes again. After not hearing anything for a couple of weeks, she calls ******. They couldn't find her car, it was listed as belonging to Deery Brothers not her. They thought they were getting the van ready for the dealership to sell "AS IS". It is now 3/28/23. She and I both have called Deery Brothers Chevrolet to ask to be informed of what is going on. They will not call her. If they don't work on Dodges they should not have sold one with that warranty. ****** Deery Brothers have been trying to help her. I paid cash for the van. When they called with an estimate on the van they called my home phone and left a message. The only way they got that number was from my check. The van is in her name and address. She gave them her phone number to call with information.Business Response

In response to complaint:
There was a customer concern noted and brought to **, (Pleasant HIll - Chevrolet) which we noted was an internal transmission concern which our computer systems can't communicate with or program when completed. We sublet service to Deery ****** (Chrysler - Dodge - Jeep) which manufacture related are much better suited to repair these concerns. There was a miscommunication on our end and Deery ******'s end of who was communicating with customer. When speaking to ********************** ****** advisor he told me/** that he had been communicating with customer and that he had told her they were waiting on parts. It was our fault (Deery Pleasant Hill) for not following up and communicating concerns or delays to customer and we have changed our sublet procedures to ensure this does not happen in the future.
On non GM brand vehicles we are able to work on all makes, models unless it comes to programming, or certain instances when information or specialty tools are necessary to complete repairs. The customer is eligible for a refund if she chooses, i am not sure if extended warranty would pro-rate contract since a claim has been made on contract.
I spoke with Deery ****** and understand the vehicle was picked up on 3/29/23.
Thank you, please reach out if anything else i can help with.
