I was directed by a property management firm called Top Shelf to use Artisent Flooring to have new, clean carpet installed in my rental unit. The unit had **** carpeting installed in it that was clearly soiled and matted down in clumps. The previous tenant had dogs and kids. I have a disabling immune system disorder that requires a clean living space. I was told that I could pay for a carpet replacement but it had to be the vendor Artisent. Artisent said they understood my situation and agreed to install berber (low pile) carpeting, a brown color, in exchange for the fee of $700. I was told the job was completed and done correctly. When I arrived to *********************** there was **** carpet installed in all of the rooms. Exactly the stuff that I cannot have with my breathing disorders, it traps dust and debris and hides filth. This is a classic "BAIT AND SWITCH" scam. I paid for a premium and quality product, which was the berber carpet. The vendor did not follow through with doing what was agreed upon and had collected my money already and did not refund any portion of my money and I would not have moved in if I knew I had to live in a **** carpeted house because my disability/illness is severe and I need very specific conditions to maintain my health. I assume they skimmed money off the sale for personal use since **** is low grade carpet, berber is a higher grade carpet and I was quoted price for a higher grade product then forced to accept a low grade product and I've been extremely ill living at *********************** and I'm currently trying to move out. Artisent refused to provide any remediation for their scam.
