I ordered some stair treads through ********* Lumber. They are a dealer for Regal, the manufacturer. Bluelinx out of ********* is the distributor for Regal that the lumber company uses. The stair treads had to be ordered sight unseen as no one had samples. I received the treads along with stair stringers for the steps. Regal is the manufacturer for both. The stringers were great the treads were not. The treads were too slick and too easily damaged. I have 2 cartons of unopened treads for a total of 12 treads.I want to return them. Bluelinx is refusing a return saying it was a special order. Neither **** at ********* Lumber nor I were informed that it was a special order.Bluelinx is a stocking distributor for Regal.**** called Bluelinx as have I. They said they do accept some returns, not this one, but there is a 30% restocking fee. Id be OK with that. ***** at Bluelinx said shed get back to me about it. Two weeks have passed now.As a consumer and former business owner I have a real difficult time in understanding how a distributor can refuse a return on a commonly manufactured item, not a custom item, that is still in the original packaging. This is especially annoying when you have to purchase the item without being able to see it in person. It is just wrong.The treads were listed at about $80 each so I have almost $1000 of product I cant use and cant return. This is no fault of ********* *************** They have tried hard to help.I hope that maybe you could help with this issue. Thank you for for time.
