BUYER BEWARE!The owner of the business sold my family member a death trap!Within 10 minutes after the deal, the turn engine off-oil issue warning came on the screen. Immediately we called Gavin the owner who said to bring the car back-he thinks it's just a sensor. After an hour of watching him look up the repairs online via his phone and computer, he told us the car had to cool down before he could work on it. We asked for the check to purchase the vehicle to be returned and for the deal to be rescinded.Gavin stated he had NOT cashed the check, he had it in hand and he does not do refunds. We offered to leave the car with him to get it repaired and we would bring the check back to him once everything was fixed. He again refused. We-Gavin included-took the car down the street to a auto shop. After looking the car over, the mechanics told us the sensor was stripped. They asked Gavin if he did the repairs and if not who did as the condition was horrible.Gavin STILL refused to rescind the deal and he didn't even offer a decent vehicle to switch into! We told him numerous times it did not feel safe to drive and he laughed and told us he does not do refunds, returns or exchanges. After driving almost 2 hours to get home, we took the car to a mechanic who found numerous codes for the oil sensor, transmission and engine amongst other serious issues. Come to find out the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BULB WAS REMOVED!If the bulb had been in the vehicle during the test drive, the check engine light would have illuminated letting us know NOT to buy the car! We took it to another certified mechanic for a 2nd opinion who told us the vehicle is NOT safe to drive at all and should not be on the road.We contacted Gavin for a refund, and he responded with "I'll think about it". Since then he has blocked our calls. He knowingly FALSELY advertised the car online as "Runs and drives very well. Clean inside and out." Lies!!
We have since filed a complaint with Iowa Attorney General!
