The complaint is against Hanalei Bay Resort. We booked a four-night stay in the resort from 3/26 to 3/30. When we checked in, it was not the "ocean-viewing" unit when I called the property shortly after my booking. The unit was dark and smelled like rotten tomatoes. We complained to the on-call manager about it. She promised to move us to "a better unit" next day since the property was 100% booked. Of course, she did not keep the promise. We checked out after the second night. The property declined to refund the other two nights we did not stay. On top of that, the unit was in poor condition. One of the water sinks did not drain. There was a semi-dead ***** in the living room floor when we got up on second morning. It was unfortunate that we paid 500+ per night for such a poor accommodation. We should be refunded for ****** at least for the two nights on 3/28 and 3/29. The majority of the property units do not have ocean view at all. It is clearly a cheating commercial to lure guests. This the worst travel experience since we came to US more than 30 years ago. This is also our firs time complaint. We did not prepare for it and did not take photos of semi-dead ***** and the non-draining sink. We appreciate your attention to the mater. Thanks for your help.
