On 2/9/2024, Laura Matsuyama terminated our childcare services unexpectedly. Prior in the week she reported that our 1.5 year old was crying too much and sent three videos of him crying, without trying to console home or intervene. She provided no insight, explanation or suggestions as to how we could resolve the issue. That Friday at pick-up she had me sign a letter saying that if the behavior had not resolved by 2/29 she would terminate services, she didnt explain this prior to me signing, I thought I was just signing a letter acknowledging her request to reduce our hours from 5 to 3 days a week. When I read it I noticed a refund was not mentioned but then realized her plan regarding termination at the end of the month. At this point I informed her we would be exploring other options and inquired as to how she would be refunding us our money due to the drop in days. She told me they had to, process what this means. To which I responded, let me know when you process that. I had my son wave good bye, thanked her and left. Later that evening she texted and said due to my attitude she would be terminating service immediately (leaving us with no childcare for the following week). We asked her repeatedly to refund us at least half of the months fees. Full time was 700 a month, but she stopped services on the 9th, so we thought that was more than fair. Instead she refunded us the difference of full time (700) and part time (500) for 200. In addition to this, we paid full price in January, and she took 3 weeks off for vacation. We thought it would be okay because wed have at least a year of services, but immediately after returning to care my sons problems started. We feel she didnt really earn a vacation as we started services with her in November. My son is a very happy boy, playful and easy going. She has recently had some surgeries and health problems, I believe she is unable to do her job and blamed our toddler instead of being accountable.
