I hired EI Electrical **** (EIE) on October 22, 2021 to replace 5 rusted/corroded electrical panels on my home. They agreed, sent me a written contract and invoice (5970-1) for $9036.65. I paid the deposit of $4315 immediately. A technician named ****** came out to replace two of the smallest and most inexpensive panels on October 25, 2021. I continued to request updates as to when the other panels would arrive and the company- primarily *** kept telling me they were on backorder, they're coming, or they haven't yet been able to find all the panels. I was billed for the remaining balance so they had money for parts on November 2, 2021 for $4721.65, which I promptly paid thinking they were going to order the parts. On February 22, 2022, the owner of EI Electrical, ***** Eastman, emailed me a detailed account of the various challenges he was facing in getting the electrical boxes for my home. On February 28, 2022, he emailed a list of supplies, with model numbers so that I could also reach out to my contacts to see if I could obtain these specific items. On April 29, 2022, I emailed ***** Eastman and let him know that I was unable to find the supplies and I would like a refund back by May 6, 2022. On May 6, 2022, ***** sent me another invoice (5970-2) for $376.96 and another invoice (5970-3) for $1845.55. I messaged ***** on May 19, 2022, stating that I havent heard from him, I have received two more invoices, and my next action is to involve an attorney. This was his reply on May 19, 2022.Been trying to cancel the requests we put in for your equipment, as we placed them with numerous suppliers. Once we get confirmation on that, and deduct the work already done, we would be happy to refund what you are due. ***** Eastman is not being truthful and is withholding over $9k that he owes me for work never performed. I shouldn't have to continue to chase this con artist anymore. I've attached the a full account of the situation and the supporting documents.

Unreliable, unprofessional company.- Last-minute cancellations... - Late to appointments or don't show up at all... - Nickel and dime you... - Don't stand by their work... - Ignore you if you email or call saying "hey, this job you did isn't working properly..." - Charge you for time spent "looking for parts" in their truck.- Pro-rate their first hour (non-refundable) and then try to drag out service so they can hit you for multiple appointments (with a pro-rated first hour,) where you have to pay more and deal with them not showing up and all the other problems all over again...Horrible electrical company. They'll get their non-refundable up-front fee from you, and then proceed to waste a ton of your time, and never even fix the problem. Look elsewhere for a different electrician.

I am curious to see if this is perhaps for another company or a mixture of experiences from others you worked with. We currently show only one payment, for a **** hour job under the above name, in which we troubleshoot and repaired/replaced multiple devices. During which you seemed happy with our services. We have reached out about this review and did not receive a response. Please contact our office so we can resolve this. Thanks.

No. There is no mistake on my end. I have emailed you multiple times expressing my complete dissatisfaction, including the day of the "repair" because the "repair" failed within hours of your electrician leaving. You ignored that email, and all the other emails I sent you since then... You cancelled my first at the absolute last-minute, which was extremely inconvenient, and you never even offered an apology. Then, you scheduled me for a day (which you selected) early in the morning and your worker was an hour late to that appointment.. When the worker arrived, he seemed polite enough (although in retrospect, he did make a rude comment about my floors not being level, which was meant as a joke, but still was not appreciated.) Then, the electrician spent about half an hour of the "**** hour job" out in his truck looking for a part he ended up not even having. Note that not having this part meant that only one of the two tasks I hired you for could be addressed at all... Which in turn meant more appointments would be required, meaning more opportunities for your company to waste my time, by not showing up, by showing up late, or whatever else...Then, there are the service-related problems. The electrician was clearly trying to rush out of my home to get to another job. He was literally stepping out my front door saying he was done and that the other part of the service I requested would need to be "saved for my next appointment." I quickly went to check his work before he left and discovered the outlet he had "repaired" wasn't even getting electricity. He came back in from one foot out the door and said "Oh, good thing you caught that. Once I'm outside, you're on your own." I thought that was outrageous. But what am I supposed to say? When there's a contracted worker in my home, I'm in an awkward position; I'm not trying to scold a grown man or get into an argument, especially since I'm hopeful that the work can still be done correctly- which is all I wanted in the first place... So, sometimes you have to be patient, let things slide, and not complain or get angry too soon. Once the outlet was working, the electrician began to leave in a hurry again. I would have liked to run a test by operating the appliance which the "repaired" outlet was intended for, but everything seemed fine, so I trusted that the electrician whose service I paid took care of everything adequately. He did not. A few hours later I tried running the device on the newly "repaired" outlet. It quickly shorted and turned off. I tried again a few more times with the same results. At this point, I'm quite frustrated. I already paid $200 for "an hour and a quarter" (see the nickel and diming?) of service that didn't even work... Only one of the two jobs I asked for was addressed in that time, and it failed later that same day. EI Electrical cancelled on my first appointment at the absolute last minute. Then, they were late for the second appointment. When they finally showed up, they half-assed the work so they could make it to another job... After giving EI Electrical numerous chances, I'm left in an even more awkward position than before. Why am I paying for confrontation and argument..? The company has now taken my money for work that literally doesn't work. Still, I decided to give the company one more chance to make things right, and I explain everything in a polite email. There was a bigger job discussed when the electrician was in my home, and at that point, I was still considering moving forward with that if my concerns regarding trust and professionalism were addressed... Instead, EI Electrical ignored the email (which, by the way, was the same email address I've used to speak with them previously, the same email they list on their website, and the same email from which they would later send me bills...)I waited a few days, but there was never a response. So, I decided to reach out to another company. I had zero trust in EI Electrical at this point anyway. The other company's electrician came out to assess and price my job the same day I contacted him. There was no preliminary charge before service like EI Electrical does... Then, the other electrician came out and finished the work the next day, for the price quoted. On time, no hassles, no stress. Infinitely more professional. Wish I had called him first and saved myself the time and money. Then, finally, I'd like to point out that I continue to receive bills via email from EI Electrical- for my "balance" for the work they did... Which is crazy, since I literally needed to call and pay another electrician to get the job done. The work EI Electrical did was faulty and incomplete. EI Electrical wasted an entire day of my time by cancelling my first appointment at the last minute. A professional company would have not only apologized for that, but knocked off at least 10% of the total **** to make it right. I missed a day of work, for nothing. Instead, you followed up a last-minute cancellation by showing up late, unprepared, only doing half the work, not even doing it correctly, and then ignoring my complaints. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND ANY OAHU-RESIDENTS AVOID HIRING EI ELECTRICAL. They were unprofessional and inadequate every single step of the way. I hired them and regret it completely. All they did was waste my time and money in exchange for sub-par, incomplete service. CALL SOMEONE ELSE.
