    An independent audit of Queens should absolutely happen because from these BBB complaints it is obvious that the billing department lacks integrity. I was billed on my daughter's over 18 account #******* for her 5/3/23 appointment, it was processed by the insurance on 5/17/23 then paid by me on 8/26/23 after many billing errors were corrected. Those corrections took 3 months and 10 phone calls including a call from HMSA as well as a stop payment on an overcharge to my credit card. Then the charge was randomly moved to her under 18 account #******* on 10/24/23 to include the copay that was already paid. This was not a new charge I checked with HMSA to make sure they weren't billed twice, only we were charged twice. My husband called to have it corrected and they just moved the bill to the over 18 account even though it had already been paid on that account and charged us an additional copay. My daughter paid it before realizing it was a duplicate charge. This follows many billing errors that include overcharging for *********** visits. If you need more details I am happy to explain all.

    This past Thursday Dec. 28 my 78 year old Mother was admitted to Queens West for difficulty breathing. She waited nearly 4 hours to be seen by a Doctor. When she finally did, they put her on a breathing machine (she is asthmatic and has COPD). They apparently did an EKG as well as an Xray than sent her home with some Flu prescriptions. The following day, she was admitted to Pali Momi because breathing was still difficult. The doctors there said she has the Flu PLUS Pneumonia in the right lung and couldnt understand how it was missed in the Xray. She also had a COPD flare up which didnt help her breathing. Her resting heart rate has been high and she is exhausted. Here is my issue. Why was she sent home? My Mother has been to Queens before. If they checked her records they wouldve seen the numerous ailments my Mother lives with. By no means am I putting her welfare ahead of anyone else that was sitting in the waiting room with her. However, the lack in having a sense of urgency, and really taking the time to thoroughly assess my Mother instead of assuming she is well enough to be sent home is beyond what my mind can comprehend right now. It appears that the doctor had more pressing matters, such as bringing down his waiting room patient count. For this doctor it was the quantity, definitely not the quality that mattered. My dear Mother sounds so exhausted. Its breaking my heart because THEY ARE THE PROFESSIONALS. ********************************. Thanks to you I will NEVER step foot in that Hospital or recommend anyone else does for that matter. Lets all pray that my Mother has a healthy recovery.
