I am a recent victim of Home Repair/Contractor Fraud perpetrated by ******* Lawarence *********, aka ******* L. ********* *** operating as Echelon Restoration and Construction LLC. Business address listed as **********************************, however the contract lists ***************** I lost $27,931 from theft of service, theft by deception, defective work and I believe conversion of payment. On April 5, 20**, Mr. ********* was hired to build a deck and restore my kitchen. He was recommended by long-time neighbors, leading me to believe he was a legitimate business/contractor. I later discovered Mr. ********* is NOT a licensed contractor, nor has ever been in *******, yet continues to perform work which requires licensure. The work done was unsafe, unstable and noncompliant with Georgia building codes. Materials I paid for were not delivered and several services were never started. Our project should have taken 2 weeks, instead dragged out over 3 months. Numerous excuses for not showing up or completing the project in timely manner were exhaustive and unacceptable. Despite repeated opportunities, Mr. ********* failed to correct defective work or provide the requested refund of ****** to repair the deck to code. Public records reveal a pattern of fraud, criminal behavior, arrests and lawsuits across numerous counties, often under different business names. These include Starr Homes and Construction, Freedom Rolls, Good Heart Diversified, ************************* and *********-***** LLC. Echelon Restoration and Construction LLC was administratively dissolved June 18th, 20**.Due to safety concerns, I filed a police report with Dekalb County Police (Case #**-056-158) and retained legal councel. Other victims have **** and Materialman's liens against Mr. ********* and associates. I respectfully ask for investigation and appropriate action to prevent further harm to homeowners. I can provide full documentation and evidence if needed.
