After Dr. ***** entered the room over 30 minutes late, I explained to her I needed to have two teeth re-bonded where bonding had chipped/broken, and I also wanted to reverse discoloration on same two teeth caused by stains that formed on the bonding over time. The first thing she said to me was you're not a candidate for bonding. She claimed her refusal was because of bone loss due to receding gums; she then showed me via my x-ray where my gum line was and where it should be and told me to see a periodontist first. I told her that I would be seeing my cousin, a periodontist, in Illinois during my family reunion in July. I then asked, if after being treated by my cousin/periodontist, would my gums grow to where they should be, and she said no, so I asked why then is it important for me to see a periodontist before getting a little bonding when it would make no difference in my gum recession; she said nothing. She then grabbed her tools and started measuring my gums sticking the tool in deep to where I felt sharp pain; my gums began bleeding. By the way, she had already performed full gum measurement of my mouth during my new patient appointment. I could tell she had an attitude so, I asked "are you saying that you don't want to do the bonding", to which she said "no I can't do it". I said "fine, I will find another dentist to do it". Upset, I left the office without getting the extraction and flipper fitting I had scheduled after my appointment with her, of which i had paid. If seeing a periodontist is not going to make my gums grow to the level she claimed was needed for bonding, why is it a prerequisite? To me these are two separate treatments and one would not drastically affect the other.
During my initial "New Patient" visit it took over 30 minutes before Dr. ***** came to examine me, once there, she rushed through the visit and left the room without clearly explaining the options I'd have for tooth replacement following the extraction I needed for a loose tooth, so I hastily chose the flipper. After she left the room I googled 'Bridge' to gain more awareness about the process and device and decided it might actually be the best option, but I had a few questions, so I asked the hygienist to ask Dr. ***** if she could come back in. When she came back, I attempted to get her to explain my tooth replacement options more clearly, but again she rushed through the explanation so, still confused, I decided to get the bridge instead of a flipper. On her way out, I heard her comment to the hygienist in a negative tone, "she doesn't want the flipper anymore".
In conclusion, I had two visits with Dr. ****** and the experience was very unpleasant each time. She was not courteous, and in my opinion unprofessional and borderline rude. She really needs better customer service ethic. When a customer is spending their hard-earned money, they should always be treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. Not just because it's the right thing to do, but it also helps your business with patient retention, and keeps it from getting "bad word-of-mouth". There are many-many dental providers to choose from, so you should always act honored that yours was chosen.
