I hired Mr. ******************** to reseal, and then cover my metal gazebo. I hired him to use a product for metal flex Seal was what we discussed. As soon as it was done and it rained, I knew it was not fixed, it was still leaking. I let them know. Then, by this next few months, the coating that they put on is not flex Seal. It's thin like paint. Now it is peeling all over it, and it looks so ugly. All I ask. Is they do what I ask in the first place?Use the right product and fix it.

    Business Response

    Dear Better Business Bureau,

We are writing in response to the complaint filed by ***** ***** regarding the service performed on her metal gazebo at ************************************. We value customer feedback and wish to clarify the circumstances surrounding this matter.

During a scheduled visit to Ms. ******* residence for other tasks, she inquired if we could assist with her gazebo. We advised her that while the gazebo was primarily designed to provide shade and not meant for waterproofing, we could make a good faith effort to help.

On July 18, 2023, we were compensated to apply silicone caulk to fill existing cracks where water was entering. It is important to note that these cracks were pre-existing and not a result of our work. We informed Ms. ***** that silicone is only a temporary fix and that it may not fully resolve the leaks due to the gazebo's intended purpose.

On September 5, 2023, Ms. ***** reported ongoing leaks and requested warranty work. At that time, we applied Flex Seal, which she provided from Lowes, at no additional charge. It is crucial to highlight that our warranty documentation explicitly states we do not cover customer-provided materials. Once the Flex Seal was applied, any material warranty related to our work was rendered void.

Even had Ms. ***** experienced this problem during our one-year warranty period, it still would not be covered due to the use of customer-provided materials and the condition of a structure that has surpassed its usable lifespan.

Ms. ***** has been a valued customer who has engaged our services for multiple projects in the past, with which she was very pleased. However, this gazebo situation has proven to be challenging for both her and our company.

On October 14, 2024, Ms. ***** requested further assistance, and we provided a quote for time and materials to address her concerns, which she declined. Given the gazebo's age and condition, we believe it has surpassed its usable lifespan and requires replacement.

We regret any dissatisfaction Ms. ***** may feel; however, we believe we have done everything possible to assist her within the limits of our warranty and the condition of the gazebo.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. We hope this response provides clarity regarding our position.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ******
