I submitted an application for financing on Sunday August 27, 2023. I did not expect an immediate response since it was a Sunday. However, I feel like it is reasonable to expect that someone would reach out to me the following business day to complete the process. When I did not hear from anyone on Monday I called on Tuesday afternoon. I spoke with who I will assume was ***** twice. During the second call on Tuesday we discussed the "out-the-door" price for the call (to which they did not possess) being roughly $11, 500. At NO time did we discuss a $1,000 financing fee. At the end of the call, the individual said he would submit my application and get back to me. A short time later I got an alert on my phone that my credit had gotten a hard inquiry and my FICO scored immediately dropped from 736 to 692. Meanwhile, Wednesday passed and I didn't hear from this company. Thursday morning my wife reached out to the finance manager who advised her that they did not proceed with the application because I told the individual that I did not want to pay the $1,000 financing fee (for a car they did not possess). The finance Manager (****) attempted to pass the blame on to the broker who actually possesses the car of interest because he didn't tell us about the $1,000 processing fee. I declined to do business with the company because **** insisted that I pay the $1,000 when the individual representing the company never mentioned the $1,000 and then in essence lied on me by saying I chose not to continue the process because I chose not to pay the fee. All the while I was waiting to hear from them because by all accounts the individual stated that he was proceeding with the application submission. I believe that is considered slander. This issue should have been resolved by the company, in good faith, completing the application with the price I was quoted during our conversation on Tuesday. At a minimum I would like my FICO score adjusted and the hard inquiry(s) removed.
