On October 11, 2021 I entered into an agreement to remodel my bathrooms with Southeastern ******************************************** They requested a $2000 deposit, which I provided with my credit card. They scheduled an appt to go to their showroom and pick out all the materials I wanted, which I did on 10/14/21. The sales manager told me the work would commence in February 2022. In January I reached out as I had not heard a word. After many tries I finally reached a person on 1/25/22. They told me that they had lost half their crew and were running behind. The sales manager then called me, told me the same thing and that my work would get done in March. He also said he would have someone reach out in two weeks. No one ever called me again. I have tried numerous times to reach someone and when I was able I left messages. I also texted the sales manager and got no reply.Initial Complaint

SOUTHERN CONSTRUCTION AND REHAB SPECIALISTS hold the permit for my house. Their agent, MB SERVICES represented by *********************************, contracted to rebuild my house after a tree fell on it. ********************************* is also a VP of Field Operations for SOUTHEASTER CONSTRUCTION. Fourteen months have passed since then. The **** inspections are an issue. **** rough inspection did not pass inpection for three months. Two of those month, no work occurred on site. Now, The final **** inspection is the only thing between me and living in my home. The final inspection failed on 12/28/2021. There has been minimal progress towards another inspection. I am told everyday that someone will be here to finish the work. No one ever shows **. ** addition to the **** issues, finishing work still is not completed and no progress is being made, including but not limited to, baseboards in a bathroom and kickplates in the kitchen. All I want is for this job to be completed.Business response

We have spoke to MB Services and the electrical box was needing an upgrade for for the **** which is in process. All the other punch items have been addressed.

!!WARNING!!WARNING!! RUNNN!! We will be filing a police report with the ********************************* FIRST THING tomorrow morning (1/14/22). We will be filling it against SECR for theft by taking for the $40,000 check that my husband signed and handed over to their contractor/project manager- Mr. ********************************* (OWNER of MB SERVICES-Another BS **** on 10/08/21- which happens to NOW be OVER THREE months ago That $40,000 was given to said contractor (AKA, our project manager) Mr. ********************************* to order materials to replace our charred/burnt roof, so we could start the rebuild process ***********/LIGHTNING ****. It WAS/IS A COMPLETE LOSS of the interior of our home after it was struck by lightning and caught fire back on MAY 10, 2021. It has been over eight months and your company HAS NOT EVEN FILED for a permit to START REBUILDING. YOU ABSOLUTELY LEAVE ** NO CHOICE AT THIS POINT- If we do not hear from you tomorrow morning AND have an *********************** to meet and get our check for $40,000 BY MIDNIGHT TOMORROW (1/14/22-FRIDAY), We WILL BE FILING CHARGES AND YOU WILL HEAR FROM OUR LAWYER. This was resolved, the check was refunded to this customer. The permits were indeed pulled and the work did not start due to labor an material shortages.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because SECR deposited a check from my insurance company for $40,000 on 10/9/21. The check was to start the rebuild of my home that was struck by lightning and caught fire back in MAY on the 10th, of 2021! Other then the exterior and the framing on the interior, everything else was a complete loss and my home still sits gutted, exactly like it was on 5/11/21.
After SEVEN months of excuses, no proof of any kind of progress, no proof or copies of orders or licenses and lies from their employee AKA my contractor Mr ********************************** I began to become suspicious and angry- honestly. ********************** then advised me that he was fired and to speak to the owner of SECR about my money and our home. When I spoke to *************** the week prior to Christmas, according to him, he had no idea this was going on, HOW this even happened OR how we FELL through the cracks, but that we were (now) his #1 PRIORITY!. He told us that due to the holidays we would have to wait a week or so after the first of the year, but they would order the tresses THAT DAY and that his assistant ******************************* would also FINALLY be applying for the building permits THAT DAY. That was on 12/10/21- THREE MONTHS AFTER they deposited my $40,000 check.
I gave them some time after the holidays and when I didnt hear anything from anyone on 1/10/22, I tried contacting BOTH **************** and **************, by calling and by text and NEITHER ONE WOULD ANSWER OR RETURN MY CALLS- OR EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE ME FOR THAT MATTER. An employee named *** finally did call me and admitted to me that my stuff WAS NOT ordered and the permits were NOT applied for. So, due to that I told him I wanted my money back and I was firing them. It was absolutely unacceptable that when I asked for my money back on 1/10/21, I was told that I had to wait for 15 days to get a check, especially AFTER they had my money just sitting in their bank account for 3 months earning interest. I truly believe that if I had not contacted their lawyer and FOUGHT for my $40,000 back I would have NEVER RECEIVED IT!
I began to research information about SECR and found out who their registered agent is, because I truly didnt believe anything anyone said anymore. It was only after contacting THEIR attorney that we finally had any form of communication with SECR. All 3 of the employees that I spoke to at SECR ADMITTED to me that my materials were NEVER ORDERED when I spoke to them- *************** and ************** did the week before Christmas-and Mr *** did on 1/10/22. I also checked with the ************************************** and there was NEVER EVEN AN APPLICATION TURNED IN- that was on January 10th- which, happened to be EIGHT MONTHS AFTER WE LOST EVERYTHING!
This whole situation has not just been a tragedy for my family, but due to this company also a COMPLETE NIGHTMARE- The way they do business and treat people is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE & UNETHICAL!!
In four days it will be NINE MONTHS since we lost our home, almost everything we owned and almost lost our lives- and my home has still NOT EVEN been STARTED! What happens to us in 3 months when my insurance company wont pay my rent anymore?? I will also be filing complaints with BBB against the other 2 companies involved in what I truly believe is a scandal ring. It all started with US CLAIMS ADJUSTERS owner ***************************** and MB services LLLP owner *********************************. After sharing info about the company and warning others, I had several people reach out to me that have had the same experience with these 3 companies/people.
So yes, I did get my money back- but this is about SO MUCH more then the money! These people kicked us when we were down, made money off of us and I do not recommend anyone do business with them- it will take approximately 5 months to rebuild my home- in 3 my insurance stops paying my rent and my family becomes homeless-
Again, this is so much more then just about the money- its about unacceptable, unethical business and con artists making money off of those who are at a low in life.
