      I canceled my service with DSS on 12/7/21 per an email and a conversation with a manager. I sent an email as requested to the email address they provided thinking everything was taken care of. They left their equipment at my house which still goes off and on 9/20/22 I had a police officer show up at my house stating my alarm was going off. I called Dependable Security Systems who stated my service was still active even after I emailed terminating my service 10 months ago. They asked me to email the same email address again which I did and I asked for a confirmation that my service was canceled. I have heard nothing. I want my service canceled and their equipment removed from my house immediately and my account verified that I owe nothing.

       I've looked into the issue that Mr. ***** has complained about. We did receive an email (attached) from Mr. ***** in Dec. of 2021 as he stated. He was informed at that time that he was in a 3yr monitoring agreement which he signed in August of 2020. I have attached a signed agreement with his initials next to where our technician explained the terms of the agreement. As far as the equipment in his home is concerned we did not install that system we just changed it over to our company for monitoring and service through a previous homeowner prior to Mr. ***** purchasing the home. The equipment belongs to whoever owns the home. If Mr. ***** was having issues with the system he never requested for us to come out and service the system to determine what was wrong with it. Please advise if you need any further information.

      I am rejecting this response because:

       

      The business gave me the email address to email them to cancel my service per my original phone call a year ago. Their service tech did not say anything to me about a 3 year contract which goes to prove this is an unethical company. I explained to a manager at time I canceled my service the circumstances of this never being discussed and was told to email the cancelation email address. Nearly a year goes by with no contact or follow up so I could only believe my service was canceled.  I called again when I had a police officer show up at my house. I was told again by the office to email to cancel my service since I get relocated with my job and I would have never signed a 3 year contract knowingly.  Now they are apparently changing what was originally presented to me. As far as I am concerned my service is canceled with them and please leave an unsatisfied negative complaint on their business for their dubious and unethical business practices.
