Bought two cars with previous diagnostic results after an oil change showing no engine issues prior to services. My wife who possesses no mechanical knowledge of an automobile, went looking for a shop close by to get her oil change. Right afterwards a severe oil leak ensued. Normally i would take my car to my usual shop for my oil change myself.
Due to recent events i was unable to take my automobile myself which is why aproximately six months later my wife takes my car to the very same location and unsurprisingly shortly afterwards (2-3 days) I notice an oil leak ensued. Upon returning to Good Time Auto Care to address the situation, they took my car into the bay area and came back with a $2000 quote to fix my issue. I politely asked the manager Ralph on site if he could possibly explain how a leak in four different places could have suddenly ensued after an oil change serviced by them. In a condescending manner Ralph response was to ask me how many miles is on the car. I replied with the milage on the car and proceeded to look at me like i was stupid. In an attempt to educate myself about what could have caused this condition without any warning signs in such short notice, I politely ask again if he could explain more in detail how the dramatic sudden change could have possibly occured mechanically. Once again defensively in a condescending manner, i was told if i think my car was tampered with.. i can get an second oppinion and take them to court. I politely walked away. I did not hesitate to address this issue because ive heard that some shops have been known to cut corners creating the need for owners to replace their engine. So in all, I did recieved the cheapest oil change around, and a quote to replace my motor came with it.
