            I appointed and was treated for cataracts by Clayton Eye Center/Clayton Cataract and Laser Surgery Center/Eye Care Centers Management late last year. In addition to $55.00 paid for an initial exam, I paid a $298.00 patient portion co-pay for treatment of each eye. In total, I have paid $651.00 which represents payment in full for all services rendered. On March 30, 2024 I received a collection notice from Clayton Eye Center and Wakefield and Associates, LLC. I owe Clayton nothing and forward verification of payment of my three bills on 10/12/23, 12/22/23, and 3/8/24. ( And, just for the record, they double billed me for the $55.00 initial exam fee).

            Clayton Eye Center has owed me several hundred dollars since my surgery in July, 2022. Despite my insurance company and myself calling them numerous times for a refund, they still have not refunded my money. The customer service agents at ********************** are rude and many times will not even answer the phone. They also make promises of getting your refund back to you, but the money is never refunded. My eye surgery at this clinic also did not go well. My surgeon was *******************. I had to finally resort to going to *********** in order to get help with my eye. I believe, because they charged me money that my insurance company already paid and then have refused to refund my money, that this is insurance fraud as well as consumer fraud. I have nothing good to say about this practice and would not recommend it to anyone. If I could, I would give this business zero stars.
