I am rejecting this response because: Yes, we had a storm that evening, however there was ZERO wind damage anywhere else in the neighborhood.  There weren't even any small branches or leaves down in the yard.  And as the photos clearly show the post on the patio cover were not anchored to anything.  The original patio cover posts were anchored to the ground with bolts and cement.  The post installed by Window World were placed over the original posts which they cut off about 4 feet from the ground and the only anchor was the dirt around the posts no bolts or concrete.  The old cover survived hurricane winds and only had to be replaced because a tree limb fell on it damaging it from above.  This was plain and simple poor installation.  Window World continues to say it was an "Act of God" which I would gladly accept as fact if the post they placed had been anchored properly and if there was any additional damage to prove the wind was strong enough in our area to actually cause this type of damage.  Neither of these things are true.  Not an "Act of God" poor installation caused this damage.

    Sincerely,

***** ****ow World is avoiding responsibility for shoddy work and has acted without integrity. Their failure to safely install this structure not only damaged the home but endangered an elderly woman.

    We demand:

Reimbursement for $1,800 in roof repairs

A full refund of $5,045 for the faulty installation

We ask the BBB to investigate, as this may reflect a broader pattern of negligence and blame-shifting.

    Business Response

    Date: 06/16/2025

On June 7, 2025 there was a thunder storm with wind gusts up to 50-60 mph in the area. It also caused downed trees in areas of the CSRA. When we spoke to **** **** we explained that Acts of God which is what a storm with any type of winds is considered was not covered under any warranty. We apologized that it had been so soon but that we advised her to contact her insurance company and file a claim due to the inclement weather causing high wind gusts that tore off a vinyl/aluminum pan cover and put it on top of her roof. We have had several storms without those high winds since her install in April 2025 and nothing happened to the cover. It wasn't until after the high wind gusts caused by the storm on June 7, 2025 that the pan cover came off. The installer that installed the cover went by and took pictures and he told her he would get back with her. He never spoke to her about the install at all but was solely there to assess the damage and see if it could be fixed. The installer anchored her pan cover down in between concrete that her original one was anchored to that got destroyed during a hurricane in September of 2024. Unfortunately we can not cover the pan cover as it was due to storm damage with high winds. We pulled the past weather report to get an accurate account of the storm as we knew the wind gusts were up there. According to weather specialists we received gusts up to 60 mph which would be exactly what caused the pan cover to become unattached and fly up.
