On August, 10, 2023 my computer appeared to be frozen and a message appeared to contact Apple with a phone number. It made sense to me as I have a Mac desktop. I was led to believe I was talking to Apple support. I was told that my computer had been hacked and they could fix the problem and offer me "*****************" for all my devices for $940. I was told to send a check certified mail. I noted on my check "Services Lifetime." I've attached a picture of the check. I never heard anything from Santify until November when I received a threatening phone call. I was informed they were going to debit $3,000 out of my bank account. I immediately starting working with my bank's fraud department, closing my account. Since November I have received daily calls, leaving threatening messages; sometimes multiple times a day. I have attached lengthy threatening messages saying they are going to debit $6,300 every year from my bank. Most recently I received a similar message threatening to debit $80,000. From reading reviews and complaints on BBB website it is clear to me this is a fraudulent outfit and scammers.Initial Complaint

In June or July of 2023, I received a pop up on my Mac stating that my computer is infected and to call the number provided. As with the other complaints filed against this company, I initially thought they were a legitimate company associated with Apple, I called and allowed remote access to my computer. I was told I needed to send a personal check for $350 for the cost of removal of the malware/virus. Several months later, I started receiving calls from Santify, LLC stating that I owe a lifetime fee which will be deducted from my checking account or that I can cancel for $1900. They insisted that I send another check to Select IT, LLC and gave a PO Box address and said to leave the memo space of my check blank. Realizing this was most likely a scam, I contacted my bank and provided them with the details and they confirmed this is a company engaged in online fraud and to not send any more money. They also closed my checking account so there is no chance Santify, LLC and/or Select IT, LLC can remove (steal) any money directly. This is a criminal organization committing financial fraud against unsuspecting people. My bank recommended I report Santify/Select IT, LLC to governmental authorities ftc.gov and ic3.gov which I have. They also strongly recommend all devices associated with the interaction with Santify, LLC be cleaned/scanned. Hopefully, the authorities can track these criminals down and prosecute them for their crimes.Initial Complaint

July 31, 2023 and on-going: This complaint mirrors/identical to others currently on file and specifically the one filed on 10/17/2023. Facts are similar in that the pop-up screen froze my computer stating that virus had hacked my computer and to connect the provided telephone # for service. Phone calls and conversations were held with *********************** ************* ID #**** and subsequently ******* ************* ID #****. Access was provided to my internet account. I was informed that it had been "cleaned" and firewall could be installed. I was given three options for duration of the firewall. I chose a one for 3 years. As noted in the complaint of 10/17th, similar questions and answers regarding why payment was to be made via check, etc. , composing of the fake letter with the check ID etc.The check was mailed according instructions. I received emails and voicemails inquiring if I had sent the check. It was received, as it was tracked by ***** The check cleared my account.Subsequently, I phone calls with ******* re service questions. In early October while traveling, I experienced services with access to my email. I called the numbers previously provided numerous times. Always received a "busy" notification. At that time, I was notified a voice mail from male who identified himself as " **************" from ************** to call him at ************ as I would be charged $9800 for lifetime service if I didn't return his call.I then meet with a private vendor who informed me that I was "hacked', did not recogize Santify and installed a new firewall.I then contacted the *********************** for Georgia and ******** Consumer Fraud ********, the *** an ***, ************************ as well as local law enforcement in Georgia and ********. Complaints have been filed with all Agencies. I will consult with private attorney to explore what civil legal remedies I can pursue. Further factual information is being retained including recent emails from employees of Santify.Initial Complaint

Im a senior citizen. On September 23, a pop-up screen froze my computer saying I had a Trojan virus. I called the 800 number provided believing I would get ********* (MS). Instead, Quick Help (**) in NY answered saying I must allow them remote access to fix the problem. I questioned if they were a MS ************** The man deflected my question by saying they had MS certification. One man claimed that I had no network firewall. I realized the next day that I already had two network firewalls. I agreed to pay $2300 by check in a panic. I questioned why I should make the check to ****** Mart in *******, so he said to use the name Santify, a company in Georgia saying thats how their company was organized. Someone took a picture of the check using my webcam. Someone running my computer used my email account to compose and email a fake letter with the check photo to ** claiming to be me saying that I agreed to a lifetime service contract and their network firewall software for a fee of $2300. I naively mailed the check under distress and confusion. I asked for a contract to read and to sign. They sent me an invoice. I told my bank what happened. Their fraud unit had me close my bank account. ** could have installed malware on my computer, so I paid Geek Squad to remove it. Over ten days, ** associates called sixty-two times demanding payment, threatening to double my cost, threatening to send me to collection, and threatening legal action. The seven phone numbers they used labeled spam risks by my phone are no longer in service. A local law enforcement officer called their bookkeeping department as part of an investigation. The ** employee rudely answered questions for about ten minutes and hung up on the officer. I wont pay the company called Quality Help 24*7/Santify/****** Mart a dime. This national scam needs to be shut down.Initial Complaint

On August 19, 2023, I was on the internet on my MacBook when this large message popped up on my screen " STOP! DO NOT USE YOUR COMPUTER OR YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOUR DATA! YOUR COMPUTER HAS BEEN HACKED! CALL THIS NUMBER FOR APPLE SUPPORT **************. Thinking it was Apple, I dialed the number and was told that my computer had been hacked 4 times and it could affect anything else that I had connected to the internet, but he would take care of it. He asked questions and spent a lot of time and said he had it fixed it and I owed him ******! He then told. me that he was from ***************. He next said that my computer would continue to be hacked unless I got firewall so he transferred me to Santify LLC where I was told by ************************* that my computer would need a new firewall each year to keep it safe from hacking. So I signed a contract for 5 years for *******. He said it was much cheaper than I could get it anywhere else. He wanted me to transfer it from my bank, but I said I would send a check. After I hung up I realized it was probably a scam. I called a Consumer Protection Lawyer who told me it was definitely a scam and not to send any money, but to notify the *** and FTC.Business Response

While using my computer, I got error codes and warnings regarding problems and to call a number. I believed them to be ********** However I ended up with a man ****** who asked questions, and told me that my firewall was not there, and no VPN and hackers were at work and he was able to fix it. I told him I had Defender and ******, which he said the hackers were at work. He came up with some solutions and downloaded a 'firewall' and told me a cost. In the meantime I used my phone and checked the company Sanctify llc out! I was livid. I told him to stop, as the 'company ' is disreputable, multiple complaints and that THEY are probably the hackers and trying to get money. I quicking ran all of my programs and drive cleaners. One one threat was found. Surprise. I changed every password, and check things frequently. They will not get any money. They call several times daily. All calls are stopped by my spam filter. Voice messages are left, but bearly audible, and clearly a script. I also got an email. No header, company. Just stupid. I sent it to spam and blocked that too. I have installed a scrubbing application for my phone, to keep this company out. This company is a predator and is preying on people who may be unaware of the dangers. Me, I was just exhausted and made a mistake. I lost a lot of time ensuring that my computer is safe and scan daily and my VPN and Firewall are intact. I want this company Sanctify to be sent away for whatever internet crimes can be tried, and for them to stop and desist bothering me will calls and emails. They will not be able to extort money from me. I pray that they are stopped, punished, and yes... Karma. Karma will get you evil players.Business Response
