My husband and I picked up our keys officially on November 19, 2023 and was met with a walkthrough with ******* from the leasing office as well. Upon finally seeing the residence for the first time, when we first walked in we were met with an unpleasant smell and dead roaches around the apartment. We brought this to *******'s attention and he told us we would be put on the pest control list for that upcoming Thursday, November 23rd, 2023. We then cleaned the apartment ourselves, reached out to the leasing agent who assisted with getting us the apartment, *******, to discuss how the refrigerator had dead roaches inside and that roaches were getting inside of the fridge as well through email. We then received an email response back from ******* stating that she had cleaned the apartment herself and that the previous tenants did not have roaches. We went months with being told we would be placed on the pest control list and never have anyone come to actually spray or treat the situation. Fast forward to the month of April 2024, we paid rent, as we always do online through the residental portal, we reached out to the leasing office regarding our portal showing an overage of payment and that when we pay rent it shows that our rent should be only a few hundred. At this time, we spoke to ********* who introduced herself as the manager and said that everything was paid up however we hadn't been paying for trash and pest control when we do pay and that we would have to pay the back pay from November until current. A week later, we got a letter on our door threatening eviction due to nonpayment of rent. We then reached out to the leasing office again, we asked for all clarity about the letter and was told by ********* that we only needed to pay $300 and we would be fine it was just the backpay of the trash and pest control. We then paid that but was still locked out of our residential portal account for 2 more months unable to get any assistance with the black mold or A/C.
