Financed a 2017 ***** Civic from this dealership. Before coming to purchase I was advised down payment was $2500. When signing the purchase documents I was then advised it was $3000 and I would not receive registration or permanent plate until the remainder of the down payment was paid. I agreed. Up until I completed my down payment I was harassed by the manager almost daily although I had 45-days to pay. I paid the remainder of the down payment and was told they would send off for my permanent plate which still took over the time of my temporary tag expiration date. After having the vehicle for 1.5months the manager starts to call and advise the loan was denied by the bank. This is around the time Im about to make my 2nd payment. Hes threatening to put a warrant out for my arrest. Speaking to me so rudely but when I was paying my money did not have the same energy. I told him I would bring the car back when he had my down payment. He in turn tells me. My down payment went towards taxes and he is not returning it. How is this possible? Why would I pay taxes on something thats not mine? Please dont buy from this place. They are trying to rob me and anyone who will fall for it. Because I am from another country he feels as though he can take advantage of me.Business Response

THIS *** WAS SOLD BY US, BEYOND ***S BUT WAS FINANCED THROUGH A ****, UNITED AUTO CREDIT. DURING THE INITIAL APPROVAL PROCESS, BASED ON THE MENTIONED INCOME AMOUNT THAT WAS FILLED BY ************************, THE REQUIRED DOWN PAYMENT WAS $2000. UPON INCOME VERIFICATION OF THE CUSTOMER, THE INCOME WAS VERIFIED LOWER THAN WHAT WAS MENTIONED IN THE CREDIT APPLICATION(SEE ATTACHED). DUE TO LOWER INCOME THE DOWN PAYMENT WAS REQUIRED WAS $3000. CUSTOMER REQUESTED US TO ACCEPT $2000 BUT WE CAME TO AN AGREEMENT THAT DEALER WILL ACCEPT $2000 ON THE DATE OF SALE AND $500 7 DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF SALE AND THE REMAINING $500 14 DAYS AFTER THE DATE OF SALE, CUSTOMER AGREED FOR 2 DEFFERRED DOWN PAYMENTS OF $500 EACH.
TO RESPOND TO THE "HARRASEMENT" - THE FIRST PAYMENT OF THE DEFFERRED DOWN PAYMENT WAS MADE BY THE CUSTOMER ON TIME, 03/05/24, SEE ATTACHED RECEIPT, PHONE PAYMENT. HOWEVER THE 2ND PAYMENT WAS DUE ON THE 03/12/24. SEE ATTACHED RECEIPT FOR ONLINE PAYMENT THAT WAS MADE 7 DAYS LATE, 03/19/2024, ONLINE PAYMENT. WE DID NOT HARRASS THE CUSTOMER, WE SIMPLY SENT REMINDERS OVER TEXT AND CALL FOR THE CUSTOMER TO MAKE THE PAYMENT THAT THEY OWED TO **, WE DID A FAVOR BY ACCEPTING DEFFERED DOWN BUT WE HAD TO END UP LOT OF CALLS TO COLLECT OUR PAYMENT BECAUSE THE CUSTOMER WAS HIGHLY UNRESPONSIVE TO OUR CALLS AND TEXTS.
RESPONSE TO WHY ALL OF THIS IS HAPPENING - WE GOT THIS VEHICLE FINANCE FOR CUSTOMER THROUGH A **** WITH A CONDITION OF "ONE MONTH RECOURSE", THIS MEANS THAT IF THE CUSTOMER DOES NOT MAKE THE FIRST PAYMENT ON TIME, THE **** WILL WILL NO LONGER SERVICE THE LOAN FOR THE CUSTOMER AND THE DEALER WOULD BE RESPONSIBLE OF PAYING OFF THE LOAN AMOUNT. CUSTOMER HAS SET UP AN AUTOPAY FOR THE FIRST PAYMENT, WHICH IS ALWAYS A GOOD THING. WHEN THE PAYMENT WAS MADE, IT WAS BOUNCED AND KICKED BACK BECAUSE THERE WAS INSUFFICIENT BALANCE ON THE CUSTOMER'S **** ACCOUNT. AFTER THIS KICK BACK, THE **** TRIED TO REACH OUT TO THE CUSTOMER MULTIPLE TIMES, AND JUST LIKE HOW HE WAS UNRESPONSIVE TO US WHEN WE TRIED TO COLLECT THE 2ND DEFFERRED DOWN PAYMENT, HE WAS THE SAME WITH THE **** AS WELL, NO RESPONSE AT ALL. AFTER MANY ATTEMPS THE **** GAVE UP AND ISSUED A FIRST PAYMENT DEFAULT BUYBACK TO US, SEE ATTACHED. IT SHOWS THAT THE CUSTOMER FAILED TO MAKE THE FIRST PAYMENT AND THAT THE DEALER IS RESPONSIBLE TO PAY OFF THE LOAN PLUS AN ADDITIONAL FEE. WHEN WE SAW THIS NOTICE AND TRIED TO REACH THE CUSTOMER, AGAIN AFTER MANY ATTEMPS WE FINALLY GOT A HOLD OF HIM AND EXPLAINED WHAT HAPPENED AND THAT HE NEEDS TO BRING THE *** BACK DUE TO "FIRST PAYMENT DEFAULT". AFTER THIS NOTICE WAS ISSUE, THERE IS NOTHING ANYONE CAN DO TO OVERTURN IT, THE DEALER HAS TO PAY THE LOAN OFF AND WE DID, SEE ATTACHED REASSIGNMENT FORM. CUSTOMER MENTIONED THAT HE SPOKE TO THE PAYMENT DEPARTMENT AND HAD MADE ANOTHER PAYMENT AFTER THE FIRST ONE WAS BOUNCED BACK, ON THE 16TH OF APRIL, 20 DAYS LATE, FOR THE AMOUNT OF $300, THE MINIMUM PAYMENT WAS $574. HOWEVER HE DID MAKE ANOTHER PAYMENT OF $318 ON 18TH OF APRIL, ASSUMING THAT IF HE MADE EXTRA PAYMENT THE **** WOULD FORGET THE WHOLE THING AND SERVICE HIS LOAN. AT THIS TIME, THESE TWO PAYMENT ARE NOT BEING APPLIED TO THE LOAN SINCE IT IS NOT BEING SERVICED BY THE ****, THE PAYMENT DEPARTMENT ACCEPTED THE PAYMENT BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT AWARE OF WHAT IS HAPPENING IN THE BUYBACK/DEALER SERVICES.
AT THIS POINT I HAS ASKED CUSTOMER TO RETURN THE VEHICLE BUT HE DID NOT AGREE, HE HAS ASKED TO DEALER TO RETURN THE DOWN PAYMENT OF $3000 BACK. LEGALLY, WE DO NOT OWE ANY MONEY TO THE CUSTOMER WHEN IT COMES TO "FIRST PAYMENT DEFAULT" CASES, SECOND OF ALL WE HAD ALREADY REGISTERED THE VEHICLE IN THE ***** OF GA AND PAID OUT THE ***** AND REGISTRATION FEE. AFTER LOT OF ATTEMPS TO CONVINCE THE CUSTOMER TO BRING THE *** BACK TO ** AND EXPLANING TO HIM HOW THIS ALL WORKS, HE DID NOT AGREE. SINCE WE LEGALLY HAD THE RIGHT TO THIS VEHICLE, WE HAD SENT OUT A **** TEAM TO GET THIS VEHICLE BACK TO **. AFTER SEVERAL DAYS AND COMMUNICATION ATTEMPS BY THE **** TEAM.
RESPONSE TO "WARRANT FOR ARREST" - THE **** TEAM FINALLY GOT A HOLD OF THE CUSTOMER WHO WAS THEN ADVISED THAT THE DEALER OWNS THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE YOU DID NOT MAKE YOUR PAYMENT AND IF YOU DO NO RETURN THIS VEHICLE THERE WILL BE LEGAL CONSIQUENCES.
FINALLY THE CUSTOMER UNDERSTOOD THE PROCESS AND THE MISTAKES THEY HAD MADE AND DECIDED THE BRING THE VEHICLE BACK ON 04/24/24, 2 MONTHS AFTER THE DATE OF SALE. DURING THIS TWO MONTHS OF DRIVING, THE CUSTOMER HAD PUT ****** MILES ON THE VEHICLE. THIS NUMBER IS USUALLY ACHIEVED IN A YEAR, BUT THE CUSTOMER MANAGED TO DO IT IN JUST 2 MONTHS. APART FROM THE 15K ADDED MILES, WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RECEIVED WE NOTICED THAT THE ***** BUMPER HAS SCRATCHED AND THE ***** GRILL WAS ALSO BROKEN. WE LOOKED UP THE ***FAX ****RT AND THERE WAS AN ACCIDENT ****RTED ON 04/04/2024 AND THE DAMAGE JUST SO HAPPENS TO SHOW ON THE ***** OF THE VEHICLE, I WILL BE HAPPY TO PROVIDE THE ***FAX ****RT.
THE CUSTOMER REQUESTED $3000 BACK WHEN HE HAS PUT 15K MILES ON THE ***, GOT INTO AND ACCIDENT AND DAMAGED OUR VEHICLE, AND ALSO THE ***** HAVE BEEN PAID TO THE ***** OF GA FOR THE REGISTRATION OF THIS VEHICLE. ON THE DATE OF THE RETURN, THE CUSTOMER HAD SIGNED AN AGREEMENT SHOWING THAT THERE IS ZERO REFUND DUE TO THE CUSTOMER DUE TO CUSTOMER FAULT OF THE FIRST PAYMENT DEFAULT, SEE ATTACHED RETURN NOTICE.
OUR SOLUTION - WE HAVE REQUESTED A *** REFUND FROM THE *** AND ARE WAITING FOR A RESPONSE. THE PAYMENTS THAT WERE MADE BY THE CUSTOMER TO THE **** AFTER THE BACKBACK NOTICE WAS ISSUED, IN THE AMOUNT OF $300 AND $318, THESE WILL BE RETURNED TO THE DEALER. ONCE RECEIVED, WE WILL MAIL OUT A CHECK FOR THE EXACT REFUND TO THE CUSTOMER. ONCE WE HEAR BACK FROM THE *** REGARDING THE *** REFUND, WE WILL BE ISSUING ANOTHER CHECK OF THE *** AMOUNT OF $1154.23 TO THE CUSTOMER. KEEP IN MIND, THAT THE *** WILL MAKE A DECISION OF WEATHER THIS REQUEST OF REFUND IS VALID OR NOT, WE DO NOT MAKE THAT DECISION. IF WE RECEIVE A REFUND, WE WILL FORWARD THIS OVER TO THE CUSTOMER.

***Warning***We purchased a car from the dealership that was botched and has issues after issues. We purchased the car in December of 2022 for our son who was on leave from the Navy. The first issue was that the one of the head lights didnt work properly. We felt that was an easy fix and didnt make a big deal because it is a used car. The owner told us that they were ordering the parts to repair the headlight and bring it back once the part arrives. During that time while driving the car started to over heat. We made them aware as we had only owned the car for a week. The dealers requested that we bring the car back and they would look into the issue and make the repairs. We did just that. We were told that the car needed a heater core and they would repair it. The car was in their possession for a week. During that time we were told that the headlights work now and the car is fine. The owner said that I drove the car home and had no issues. Since then the car continues to overheat and we took the car to a trusted mechanic and the findings were shocking! The car engine has been patched together with ************* around the heater hosing to prevent leaks which melted into the system of the engine. We have also discovered that this may have been done to patch/hide a blown engine head gasket with head gasket sealer. We paid 11k for this car that is no longer operational because of a blown head gasket. Please be ware! I would hate for this to happen to anyone else. We were sold a lemon!Business Response

My name is ***** from Beyond Cars Atlanta
Below is our response to the case mentioned.
"We have talked with our customer ******************** and have offered to fix the vehicle as this was part of the 6 months guarantee as a part of the previous job that was done on the vehicle. ******************** "appreciated the update" that we provided on the vehicle when we spoke the last time. We did not notice ************ welding" like on the engine, as the "trusted mechanic" mentioned, nor were we aware of such a thing."
Thank you!
