We engaged ****** *****-******, *** to prepare our 2024 Individual Tax Returns. From the outset, we clearly explained that our short-term rental activity required reporting on Schedule E. ****** did not express any concerns, and we provided all requested documentation, including our 2023 TR with Sched E and 2024 P&L tied directly to Sched E line items. Despite this, the first draft delivered 4/28/25 was incorrectly prepared using Sched Ccontrary to our documentation, discussions, and agreement. After correction, we received an invoice 4/30/25 for $1,450, consistent with the original $1,300$1,800 estimate. Over the following weeks, we exchanged numerous emails regarding the 2nd draft return, which contained significant errorsincluding incorrect names and Social Security numbers, property address, gross rents, closing costs and property taxes improperly excludedonly a small sample of a much longer list of inaccuracies for which we were later unjustly billed. On 5/17/25, our bill unexpectedly increased to $3,400 without disclosure or justification. When we raised concerns and requested to work with another ***, our calls were ignored. On 5/23/25, ****** terminated the engagement via email, leaving us with an inflated billmore than double the original estimate and no accurate fileable return. The invoices include excessive and unsupported charges, such as double billing for version two, $500 for a non-existent version three, and $800 for undocumented communication. We later contacted Mr. **** Alexander on 6/13/25 to dispute the final invoice, but no documentation was provided to support the charges or even a clear hourly rate. An updated invoice 6/25/25 added more line items without resolution. Throughout this process, ****** and **** have refused accountabilityminimizing errors, inflating charges, and reframing the engagement to shift blame onto us. Our new RE *** charges $1,175 for ongoing tax preparation, demonstrating a reasonable and transparent fee.

I am rejecting this response because the business did not address, acknowledge, or resolve the specific issues outlined in my complaint. The firm has failed to meaningfully respond. This complaint concerns billing practices, repeated errors, lack of accountability, and a failure to deliver the contracted service. Given that the services were incomplete and unsatisfactory, the only fair resolution is that no charges be assessed so both parties can move forward without further dispute.

    Sincerely,

    ******* *****
