    I have an outstanding balance with Gastro Specialists that is the result of a billing error. I've made numerous contacts to their office but my concerns were either dismissed or ignored completely. Instead of providing any assistance, they chose instead to refer me to collections. Please note that the original office visit was on 9/11/19 but the issue is still unresolved. This charge is invalid because: I was in the office for a required appointment with the PA before scheduling a screening colonoscopy. Insurance does not cover this and I paid $90.45 for it in advance. The visit I was billed for was the wrong type of appointment - a higher level diagnosis/treatment appointment. I have disputed it with the practice and the collections agency but no one has been willing to look into the situation or even take a few minutes to understand my issue. I was not ill and I have never had gastro issues. The appointment was very brief and I was not examined, diagnosed with or treated for anything I was not told that I needed a more in depth appointment or that the visit was being billed as a non-preventive visit. I did not receive any additional services. In late 2020, I received a statement from Gastro Specialists that said I had no balance due. I had also stopped getting calls from the collection agency so I thought all was resolved. However, yesterday I pulled my credit report and found that I am still currently in collections with an outside agency. I then logged onto the practice's billing portal and my most recent statement (8/14/20) reflects both that I have No Balance Due and that I owe $147.53. I would like for Gastro Specialists to correct my account and communicate this to the *********************** collection agency so that they will cease collection and correct my credit report. Finally, I would like to be provided with written verification that this was completed.

    I am leaving this review warning others not to visit the Gastroenterology Specialists of Dekalb ******* Although the word specialist is in this business' name, there are no "specialists" working there and nothing "special" about this dr's ******* I went there at the end of June/beginning of July as I was referred by my PCP due to the fact that I am severely anemic, my blood count was low due to low iron. My PCP recommended that I have an iron infusion. Here we are a month later, I have not received this infusion and I am becoming more tired, weak & lethargic by the day. I've contacted this ****** MULTIPLE times; however, to no avail. All this ****** has continuously done is schedule a colonoscopy so that they can receive my copay portion of $1500. They continue to drop the ball with my insurance company on scheduling the infusion; as such, my insurance company informed me that they can't approve the infusion unless the dr's ****** submits the correct documentation. At this point, all they've done is given me the runaround and transferred me from employee to employee while I feel worse and worse. This situation is very stressful to put it mildly. I do not want to die awaiting the infusion & waiting this dr's ****** to become professional, get organized and return calls as they should. I need this infusion ASAP and I scared that if I don't get it soon I may not be able to function anymore. I tried to file a complaint within the organization; however, this ****** would not give me info on doing this...so here we are. My next step will be filing a complaint with the ************************ as this dr's ****** only cares about money not the well being of their patients. I gave this business 1 star because I could not give it any negative stars!!
