In May of 2024 I called, **** owner of Retromod Dynamics to see if he would be interested in performing Retromod work on my 1967 Chevelle SS and he agreed. There was no written agreement about time to do work or cost. I paid for parts and labor as we progressed. I have receipts. **** has giving me several promise dates throughout this year to have the work completed and failed each time. I have copies of text message reflecting this. On 9.6.2025 we both signed a Time Extension Agreement that was also witnessed and signed by a License Notary in my hometown. He stated that the work to finish the car should take 4 weeks. I was nice and said I will give you 5 weeks (started 9.8.2025) in this agreement, deal. In this agreement he had 5 weeks to complete, and we would settle for approximately $14,000.00. After that each day work wasn't completed, it would cost him $2000.00 each day (started 10.13.2025) until there was no debt. He agreed. Per Time Extension Agreement now I owe him nothing. We spoke for 1 hour on 10.20.2025 and he stated that he needs 7 more days to complete with no time frame to complete. I am unsure when I will get my car back or if I can trust the finish product. Lie after Lie continues. I have a copy of all text messages; I have emailed receipts and signed time extension agreement. I want my car back asap. Thank you for any help!

I regret that Mr. ****** chose to come here and complain. I will admit that against my better judgment, I did recently sign a contract with him with a completion date which I fully intended on following through with. I developed a pretty major hernia about 6 weeks ago and I am in desperate need of surgery. I prefer to see this through before my procedure, although I'm doing nothing further damaging myself as I do so. Mr. ****** knows this. Not an excuse, but definitely slows me down as anyone would correctly assume. I have several VERY competent employees that can see his car through without my assistance, but I feel it's best for me to be here until this is resolved. As always, there are two sides to every story, so I'll state my position. First off, I would like to say that I have no ill will towards Mr. ****** and I think he's a great person. He and I have come to know each other pretty well over the last year, and I have appreciated his friendship along the way. While it's extremely disheartening to read his words in this complaint, I still think highly of Mr. ******* That being said, custom work is very expensive and it's impossible to put an exact delivery date on a custom build of this quality level. Anyone who has had custom work done, especially on a nearly 60-year-old vehicle, knows that you don't know what you're getting into until you're there. Such is the case with this car. There have been many holdups along the way from both sides. Mr. ****** had no place to put the car and mentioned on several occasions that he was not in a rush for it, for parking space reasons and monetary reasons. I don't think Mr. ****** understood the cost of this project, and we did not discuss a completion date originally. I took it upon myself to be as cost effective as possible with respect towards the budget he had without sacrificing quality. I even sold him every part at retail cost to help his budget. I have allowed myself to be pushed to a completion date on numerous occasions, and I should not have done that. That is my mistake, as I did not give myself enough time to complete the car at the quality level that he and I desire, given the previously mentioned holdups. Mr. ****** did neglect to mention that we have worked on two other classic cars for him, and he loves our work. I have proof of this through text messages. I even drove over an hour to his house and worked on his daily driver ****** Sequoia for two hours for FREE late at night and resolved an issue that the ****** dealership could not resolve, and I did this for FREE. I did a paint correction and ceramic coating on a Camaro for FREE, and I delivered the car to him for FREE, again, over an hour away. All of this to show that I was committed to his happiness and contentment. I felt I needed to do this to make up for any lost time in his perception. He is attempting to present me as a foul person in some way, and it's just not true. We have a great reputation, we have LOTS of award winning cars, and I've never had an unsatisfied customer that I know of. We have well over **************** our books, and almost all of them are repeat customers. Mr. ****** and his wife are very nice people, and again, I regret that it has come to this. He picked an odd time to make this complaint, as the car is nearing completion. I am now expected to read this complaint and go back into the shop to finish the car for an owner who now publicly speaks negatively of me and my character. Since I am an honorable person, I plan to finish the car at the same quality level I would have finished it in, had this not played out the way it has. Again, I appreciate Mr. ******* and I deeply regret this is what it has come to. Everyone makes mistakes, and unfortunately we will now debate mine here. Thanks for reading.

I am rejecting this response because: There is NO designated end to complete my car since he broke are time extension agreement. He allowed that he needed 7 more days to complete the car after time extension had expired but would NOT give me a time frame. No end in sight just all talk.

    Sincerely,

Although the progress is not happening as quickly as I agreed to, we are doing our best to complete the car in a timely manner from here WITHOUT sacrificing quality. There aren't many steps left to take for it to be complete, but I can't rush it together at the end. The quality has to be there. I'm devastated for everyone involved that it's come to this, but the last thing anyone wants is for the car to be rushed to "completion", only to have to be revisited later. I really am not sure what I can do to appease Mr. ******* other than to just finish the car as quickly as possible. Please advise.

I am rejecting this response because:

I am done arguing with this guy. He has no intention of providing an honest completion date. He spends all day working on other cars instead of focusing on finishing mine, which is now three weeks past due as of 11.3.2025, according to the notarized agreement. **** stated on 10.20.2025 it would take an additional 7 days to complete the car, two weeks later no car completed. There is NO end to this guy's false completion dates. Additional action will be taken, if I do not receive an honest completion date, addressed to the BBB of my car in the condition stated in time extension agreement (no more no less), in the response to this rejection. I'm done talking!
